  • Very useful app… 1 week in pov with UX request

I’ve been using this app for a week now. First time I’ve ever needed to more aggressively track my BP. This app is very well done and easy to use… quick entry, sync with Apple Health, tagging… all great features of free version. I’m considering upgrading to the premium version but wanted to try it out before committing.

The only gripe I have atm is around entering notes. My dr said I should note how I feel before numbers as I have a tendency to get anxious if numbers are elevated. Entering notes here is after I capture the numbers, which is ok but the notes field retains my previous notes requiring me to clear the field each time. If it were like that for the same day, it wouldn’t be as annoying but I think it should clear for a new day or make it easier to clear with one “click”. This may seem minor but when you have to do it each time it gets annoying. I’m hoping an update could make this UX better.

Hello - Absolutely! We are on it. Btw, you can disable the “Remember Tags” toggle button in the more section to reset the notes each time. Downside is that the tags won’t be “remembered” and pre-populated. Your suggestion for a “clear” button is a great one. Will add it in our next release coming out in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions- support@evolvemedsys.com
  • Invaluable app

I’ve been using the paid version for several months in conjunction with my cardiologist to monitor my bp and bradycardia before a planned pacemaker install. It has literally been a life saver! A couple of minor issues arose with the app, but the support staff have been so responsive that from little Tasmania I was contacted with a solution within 30 minutes! Cannot praise the developer enough for support process.

  • Type is super tiny!

I tried it, and then deleted it. The letters and numbers are minuscule and impossible for me to see without a magnifying glass. Looking at that big white screen full of blank space, I wonder why they didn’t use the space more intelligently. I am a senior citizen with new glasses last month, but I can’t comfortably read anything on the screen in this app without magnification or massive eyestrain. If the developers intended to make this app only for younger folks with 20/20 vision, fine,…but don’t write off all of the seniors and people with vision challenges who suffer with blood pressure and/or heart rate issues. I’m going back to my iPad Notes app where I can set the text size to a comfortable level, and simply input the readings on the keyboard. I use symbols to allow my doctor to quickly see where the HR was too low (🤍), the systolic or systolic was too low. or both were too low (🔻🔻). I have different symbols for hypertension, and this method has worked well for me. If you upgrade to a variable typeface, I may try again, as the graphing ability is a convenient feature. Even that was so small and faint , so I struggled to see it. Perhaps the developer should hire a vision challenged programmer to point out the sad inadequacies in this app and help to solve them.

Update Apr 13th: Good news. We have made the fonts bigger. Hope this works for you. Please let us know if you have any questions. You should be able to upgrade to version 8.2.1 anytime now on the App Store. Also, would appreciate a response or acknowledgement on email as requested earlier. Update Apr 11th: We have an update planned this week that will increase the font size and hope you will be satisfied with the outcome. Also, as requested earlier, please email us directly as it is hard to troubleshoot here. Update Apr 3, 2023: Can you send us a screenshot of what specific areas are you having difficulty with and we would be more than happy to fix it for you. Our email - support@evolvemedsys.com Also, were you able to resolve the issue of limit classification selection based on your previous message? If you are genuinely interested in resolving these issues, please directly email us and we will get them fixed. It’s very hard for us to narrow down your concerns here. The US default limit classification is according the 2017 AHA/ACC guidelines. But the good news is that we also have a custom limit classification that includes a “low” category. You can set this in the “limit classification” within the more section of the app. Make sure to consult your doctor to review the current 2017 ACC/AHA classification before changing to the custom. If you need help finding it or more info on the guidelines, please let us know - support@evolvemedsys.com
  • An example of what an app should be

A brilliant, well developed piece of art
I can’t speak highly enough of SmartBP, or of the outstanding skills of those responsible for the development; if it were possible to award ten stars, I would.
I have a heart condition that required the fitting of a pacemaker and now I am required by my doctor to perform seven BP readings per day and I needed a better way to do it. SmartBP is that better way with its Bluetooth connection to the simple, uncomplicated SmartBP blood pressure monitor. No more manual diary entries, simply perform the reading and everything else is automated. Reports are attractively produced in PDF format and simplify reporting to my doctor either in person or by email. Thank you Pranam 👍

  • Upgrade made font unreadable

Right after the upgrade, the average screen, and the standard deviation font became too small to read for me.

Hello - Are you referring to the Home Screen dashboard? Can you send us a screenshot of which specific screen you are referring to? Our email is support@evolvemedsys.com We will be more than happy to set the font correct if specify where. Thanks
  • App slow

I have noticed the app slowing down over time. I had started using the app in Jan 2019. I kept all records since then but as of Jan 2023 app was very unresponsive. I just deleted records from Jan 2019-Aug 2022. App is running quicker and more responsive. Sucks that I lost all records up to Aug 2022. Guess they are forcing you to purchase the app but if the app is slow from saving many days I don’t think it will get any better purchasing.

Hello - Thanks for reporting this issue. Apologies for your experience. We are working on further improving our performance in a couple of months. There is no relationship between the upgrade as you can store unlimited records for free.
  • Update - App shut down - unable to open

Have been using this app for several years and was very satisfied using it. However, as of yesterday I have not been able to open it up and or access to put the widget back up on my Home Screen.

Update: contacted the developers and received a quick response. Needed to update the app.
  • Good but hard to transfer data from phone to tablet

I've been using it for a few years. Most of the time I used my phone but sometimes my tablet. It's easy to use. When you transfer your data on the cloud you can have access to it on all your devices. I had an issue recently and the support was excellent. They fix the app in a couple of days and they informed me that the problem was solved. It works perfectly.

Hello, It’s probably easier to troubleshoot the issue you are having if you can contact us directly on support@evolvemedsys.com but providing some details here to try out first iPhone and iPad Sync: There are a couple of ways you can sync between your mobile devices. Both options require upgrade to premium version: Sync through SmartBP Cloud: You can seamlessly sync between all your mobile devices using SmartBP Cloud. You can access SmartBP Cloud from the History screen. Here you can register for a SmartBP Cloud account. Once you are registered, login with your credentials across all your mobile devices where you want to sync your data. For more information on our privacy policy, visit https://www.smartbp.app/privacypolicy Direct sync between iPhone and iPad through WiFi or Bluetooth without going through Cloud For users who do not want to share their data in the cloud, we provide an option to sync between iPhone and iPad directly. You should have the premium version of SmartBP running on both devices. After making a purchase on one device, you are NOT charged again for the app on another device. Go to the More section of the SmartBP and select "Restore Purchase". You will only be charged once and not twice. You restore your purchase for free. First set one device to receive from the more section of the app. Then on the other device, from history screen, select your data and tap on the share icon and select share with nearby iPhone and iPad. Note that data needs to be pushed manually each time you want data to sync between these devices. If you want data to automatically sync, SmartBP Cloud is recommended. Refer to the FAQ for iPhone and iPad sync instructions and screenshots https://www.smartbp.app/#faq
  • ICD implant

This is a fantastic app! I’ve used it for many years and it helps me keep track of my heart issues. I recently had a defibrillator implanted and keeping track of my BP is a must. I can record as often as I want and download info to my cardiologist with ease. I highly recommend this app for everyone with heart issues or who just want to keep a record after exercise. I found the product support to be outstanding if there are any troubles people might have with different devices. I use the app on my iPhone and iPad and they sync easily.

  • Fantastic app and great support

I’ve been using this app for almost two years. I was diagnosed with hypertension and am on medications but my doctor wants me to take daily readings. This app makes providing her averages over time which she appreciates. Intuitive interface and good graphics. The last update (prior to today) completely broke the app. I emailed and customer support responded and was on it. They realized what the problem was and fixed it and pushed out an update within two days. The update that came out today (7.9.3) fixed everything and we’re up and running again.
