- new design - new introductory material (The update is just like the book, I Deserve a Donut (And Other Lies That Make You Eat), but is easier to navigate than a Kindle version of the book.) - an extra set of questions and Bible verses (self-condemnation) - update has just two categories on it: Lies That Make You Eat and Emotions That Make You Eat. This will make it easier to find the questions and Bible verses that you want - update does not have the horizontal view feature

Description of I Deserve a Donut

Do you eat when you're stressed? Or when you're bored, lonely, or annoyed? If so, this app will help! It contains 32 sets of questions and 150+ Bible verses you can use to go to God for help with weight loss! Here’s how it works. When you’re in a tempting situation, all you can think of is the food: how it looks. How it smells. And how good it would taste. What you need is a way to break the hold it has on you. This app will help. The questions are designed to help you see the big picture: Will eating really make you happy? Will it be worth it? Would it be better not to eat? The questions and Bible verses will help you get a biblical perspective on life - and that will help you break free from those negative emotions that drive you to eat. As you go through the questions and the verses, you’ll begin to see your desires change - so you'll no longer even want that donut! Here’s why: It’s the lies you believe about food that make you want to overeat. When you replace those lies with truth, you’ll actually want to follow your boundaries. And that will help you lose weight and keep it off. If you'd like to see a short YouTube video of the app in action, click on the blue I Deserve a Donut support link on the iTunes Preview page for this app or go to the Christian Weight Loss App page at barbraveling.com under the weight loss tab. There is also a Bible study that goes with this app called Taste for Truth: A 30 Day Weight Loss Bible Study which is available at Amazon.

  • MEETING ME WHERE I AM THROUGH THE APP

This app is meeting me right where I am, helping me through this part of my journey& desire to be obedient to the will of God so I can live a righteous life w/ a healthy, strong body, mind, & spirit, allowing me to love God & His people & help build His Kingdom. I’m currently committed to a daily time of going through each ‘lie/emotion’ exercise to familiarize myself w/ the process & strengthen those ‘muscles’ so they’ll be strong when my willingness is weak.
  • You need this.

If you need encouragement, guidelines and insurance, and a main focus, then this is the book for you whether you have it as a kindle book paperback book, it will be very helpful. The app is even more helpful because you can pull it up at any moment, when you are struggling, and can find encouragement in God’s word and wisdom.
  • This is what I needed

My weight loss journey has been going on for so long that it feels like par for the course. Two months ago I was at my all time heaviest. I had been feeling such despair and rejection in life. Feeling stuck. I’m a big podcast listener so I googled Christian Weight Loss and found this podcast. Barb, you’re changing my life. I’m also seeing a nutritionist and between following my plan, and learning how to renew my mind and truth journaling I’ve lost 31lbs with no signs of slowing down. While I’m still a ways off my goal, I’m learning how to love myself all over again. That’s healthy for me, my marriage, my family, and pleasing to God! Highly recommend this podcast and all of her content. Thank you Barb!
