Oops another garbage service

There are probably only 10 good shows (2-3 great ones) featured through this entire app, and that is a generous number. It is disappointing to know that some of these shows that were actually worth watching will inevitably get cancelled because someone thought it would be a good idea to bring back the same amount of ads as you get on free content streaming services. 90% of the content is behind different additional paywalls, and the little that is not is badly cut up with ad placement.
I just moved from one room to another, and so I had to temporarily close my iPad and open it again when I changed the room, this took less than 5 minutes. Once I opened the screen again, the video had closed and when I reloaded into the show I was watching (less than 10 minutes of the episode left), I was forced to rewatch the ads I had already watched. It started the episode again, and not 1 minute into the episode, I got the second set of ads that I had already watched for that episode.
Tubi, Peacock, and Gem if I remember correctly are the titles of different apps with the exact same ad placement but they are completely free to use. They have also even begun creation of their own content, wild that they started free with ads and are now creating their own stuff, instead of adding ads after already being successful.
Ready to go back to waiting for when the box set comes out, because the content and quality of this streaming service does not match the price paid to use its services.

Take the adds off

I’m paying already for a subscription. Why do I have to put up with adds? I’d give 0.5 stars if I could

horrible

This is the worst streaming app in the world, you have to pay to get amazon prime but then you have to pay more money to ger no ads and pay more money to get movies or shows it makes no sense to even subscribe in the first place.

Poorly optimized app

A lot of people come here to complain about the ads and I get it. You already pay substantially for Prime, why would they need to make more money by selling ads? But I think this is the wrong place to complain about the company’s business practices. I would like to draw attention instead to what a half-baked app this is. As others have noted, it doesn’t sync across devices. It frequently doesn’t remember where I stopped watching at all. And to get to point in the episode it should have indexed to, I have to sit through ad breaks that I already sat through before. The bright side, if you can call it that, is that the experience on mobile is 1000% better than on Xbox, where the devs spent so little time and effort that the app is more or less unusable. The UI is unintuitive and it seems like they spared little effort to show you things you can spend more money on and largely neglected to show you things you might just want to watch.

Enjoy for the most part. Don’t mind a few commercials. I really enjoy a lot of the foreign shows and movies. But don’t like only getting one season, I usually check to see how many seasons are available before starting something to see if I want to invest my time in something I may not get to continue. I hate finding a show that appeals to me only to find out there was only one season. For shows with only one season it would be nice to know if it gets wrapped up or ends in a cliffhanger. I don’t like spending time trying to research if everything gets resolved at the end of a season or two. It would be nice if it says one season but everything gets resolved or if it says cliffhanger. Who wants to enjoy a show that leaves things unresolved. No one!
Thanks. Really really love when there is info on actors and some of their other work!

English language films with only foreign language previews.

They have had some terrific content but let’s face it they have a ship load of really low quality content that one would be struggling to give away.

It’s definitely not worth paying $2.99 per month on top of my prime subscription to remove ads that are coming in July. Basically they are saying they are charging us more so that they can give us more but I’m happy with what I’m getting already apart from a crappy app and problem with previews mentioned below so that argument is really puerile .

English language films with only foreign language previews. That’s dumb. How about focusing on getting things right ?

Ads ??

I am very disappointed that I am getting ads on a streaming service which I pay for. It’s not enough that more than 80% of the movies and shows on here still need to be payed for on top of the subscription, but now I cant even watch a 30 minute episode without 3 ads popping up throughout the show :)
Thank you for ruining my viewing experience.

Scamazon

No it’s not that bad, the service and selection is fine. The issue I personally have with it is that despite being a paid monthly subscription, there are still ads. There have been ads for a while but you could just skip them, now, the ads cannot be skipped.

Jeff Bezos just trying to milk more money from consumers by taking from your wallet and time.

Not entertaining

I’ve been a prime video member since they started the platform, I have always been quite happy with there selection of movies and tv shows, however this last couple months I have been not only been paying for my subscription including paramount + but also seem to be paying for adds. I can’t watch any show with out getting bombarded with ad after ad after ad. This has been beyond inconvenient to me and my family. I feel that almost every platform has been not only charging for subscriptions but also charging companies to place there ads. In other words your double dipping your chip. And to make things worse, we have to pay more to go add free. This is completely unfair. If you are going to place adds then don’t charge for subscriptions and if you customers are paying subscriptions then don’t place ads. This is not fair to your customers and only goes to prove corporate greed. You need to fix this immediately for your customers before you lose a lot of us.

Adverts? Really?

When you pay (a high price) for a subscription service, you expect an ad-free experience. Corporate greed has left us with extortionate prices for lesser service and tone-deaf adverts interrupting a service we’ve paid to not have ads on. I understand adverts on the FAST services available on the app, that’s acceptable, but to have the films and series I’m paying a subscription to watch be full of increasing more frequent ad-breaks (this one forty minute episode has had six adverts - the promised “few, infrequent adverts” clearly has become a lie rapidly) is disappointing and we are nearing the point that the sunk-cost fallacy of pouring money into a service that offers no real ownership and no benefit over media piracy is nearing the tipping point, particularly when to get even a reasonable range of series one has to have several expensive subscriptions.

As a parting thought, sit and think about how much you’re going to be paying for subscription services every single month for the rest of your life, and then think about how much money you put into media - CDs and DVDs - before streaming services were common practice. At least then you owned the media, without it being able to be taken away from you at the whim of a corporation.
