Some problems
I can access the magazines via the app but not by clicking on an article in an email & logging on - strange.
When viewing the magazine in digital format, most times swiping from 1 photo to the next brings up the next page/article instead - frustrating.GC Australia
Update disaster
Don't get me wrong: the mag is still brilliant. The new app, though, is not. Very slow to download new issues, and the only subscription app I have that won't auto-download in the background. Worst of all, it has to reload the app and “dynamic resources” every time you come back to the app. If you leave for two minutes or check another app, CAR makes you start over.
UPDATE Frequently the app decides the newest issue is from 2022, even though I was reading Feb 2024 last night and it was already downloaded. Truly dreadful app.Show lessBNB48
Possibly the worst App ever… shame
I love Car and receive the magazine every month. I recently upgraded to the digital subscription, but on a mobile phone, I have never come across such a terrible user experience. Constantly being asked to log-in to read articles and being re-routed to a website. Really Car? This experience takes away from the good work the magazine does. Hate it.Show lessFU Fan club

No matter how good the content, if you cant access it, it’s worthless. When enquiring to Car, I am told to complain to Apple. There is no facility to do so. Not helpful.johnhmonty
Is there any life at app support?
I have been happily catching up on issues after a few months away, until last Thursday when suddenly it stopped working. I emailed to ask you to look into it and had no reply. I emailed again on Friday requesting an update. It’s now Monday and nothing. I still have no access and now cannot even get to the login screen. I have been using the app for several years now and have never had any problems before. Please help so I can enjoy CAR again!Show lessFawltyTowers69

As someone who sporadically goes back to my electronic articles as I do my print versions of Car, I can only say it has great articles , photos and videos. I regularly have problems with my e-purchases , sometimes not showing, needing repeated restores and today, some of them, showing poorly.
As I say, when it works, great. I still have my print NSX, Ferrari 348, Porsche 911 Lotus Esprit V8 comparison from when the first NSX was first reviewed. I doubt whether I will be able to easily access e-issues of Car in 20 years.

Unreliable app. Cannot access past issues after you’ve paid the digital subscription . The printed magazine has more content.Joellys18
No Archive
Fantastic magazine, I’ve been reading Car for well over 30-yrs. The new app looks good, but the archive only seems to go back to 2020 whereas before it was 2012 onwards. It would be nice to have all issues of Car in the archive (as Autocar have just done).rdhkit

The New Car is a response to COVID-19…..not to making a better Magazine.
It is “detached”.
It has no “cohesion”.
It’s like a kid’s school project - a collection of diverse articles strung together.
It is very very disappointing.
It is ephemeral.
It has no “substance”.
And it will have no lasting “worth”
