  • The app is appalling

    Car is, for the most part, a great magazine. If I buy it online, what I actually want is THE MAGAZINE. What I actually get is some weirdly formatted, large print garbage which is impossible to navigate. Whilst it may have all the content (except advertising), it feels far less substantial, probably because the format makes it virtually impossible to casually flick through. The last time I bought an online issue, several years after forgetting how awful the app was, I read only one article. When I buy the print magazine, I take my time and read most of it over the course of a few days.

  • Great content let down by treating the iPad as a small phone

    Certainly, the content is typically a good read with great pics. Using an iPad Pro with a screen almost as big as the printed magazine is a bad joke... Each time you load a new edition or move around the same magazine and the text makes it look like you’re using a small phone screen. You constantly have to use two fingers to zoom out so the text gets smaller and you can see more of each page. It gets worse, while you can zoom out to make the text font small like a paper magazine, as soon as as you let go it very annoyingly makes the text that bit too big again...

    This is obsoletely ridiculously...
    Yes, if I get stuck somewhere and use my iPhoneX then it’s OK for size. But as I mostly use my iPad Pro I EXPECT to be able to read it and look at the pics like turning pages of the printed magazine. Considering it’s the same price as the printed magazine I really can’t understand it and won’t be resubscribing - or go back to the printed version.

    I also use Zinio for a few other magazines so it can be presented like a paper magazine and look better too...

  • Subscription online not working and no help from support

    I have been a reader for over 30 years and subscriber for 15. Added the online part couple (?) years now it’s not working and cannot get a response from Bauer support for nearly a week. When I did get response they said I never had the online subscription.... still awaiting a reply. Again.
  • Car for ever

    Simply the best automobile magazine on the planet. Great writers and the lead on the most exciting cars and trends. Although I live in the US I feel like I’m included. Georg Kacher is my favorite writer. Makes me feel like I’m in the passenger seat. Keep it going.

  • Love the magazine, hate the app

    Why do we have to slide up/down/sideways/in/out just to read one article? I’ve dumped the app and gone back to the printed magazine. Any app that offers an iPad version of a magazine should behave like a magazine. Stuff on a page, read, turn page. Simple.

    couldn’t be restarted until i downloaded ios 13.4 which forced a restoration
  • Great Content Terrible App

    The main reason for this low score is that every time you go off the app (lock the screen, use another app, etc) it forgets not only what page you were on, but what issue you were on. SO FRUSTRATING to have to reopen the app and refund the page you were reading, particularly given the content scroller in the top right doesn’t seem to work properly anymore (pictures are now missing). I genuinely can’t understand why such a simple feature isn’t included.

  • Great magazine, terrible app

    Each time the screen locks the app closes and you have to go all the way from choosing to opening the magazine you were reading, to going to the article you were reading. It’s tiresome and frustrating.
