Huntsville Alabama metro area new roadway developments that are completed and are very new.
There’s been a few times I couldn’t pull up a address because the street/address was so new I think in total 3 times in the last 2 years I understand it’s hard to keep up with the extreme growth very similar to Austin Texas but I thought Huntsville Alabama has a google location in the metro so I’m curious why there isn’t more street cars or satellite imagery updated/roadways/maps. Huntsville led the United States in apartment building development they completed 40 apartment complex’s in a year and same following year applies. That alone plus the almost 20k people added to the metro yearly for its size is very impressive. Every direction you turn your head no exaggeration something is being built or constructed. Road/houses/apartments/lofts/duplexes/parks/ sidewalks/ everything imaginable so please take the time to read this and understand this isn’t normal growth it’s something I’ve been seen before it’s like a bunch of people got together and said let’s make a city larger than Atlanta in a very short period of time. Please send more street cars or something because 300 to 400 million every year just on roads is insane.

Insane illogical routing
Routed me away from a main road which I always take for some reason and then I ended up hitting a dead animal lying on the road. Now my car is damaged and I need to source a part for it which is hard to get. My car is old and parts aren’t kept in stock. By routing me via a completely ridiculous route to save 10 minutes travel time I now have to spend hundreds getting my car fixed and I can’t drive anywhere until it’s fixed. All of this trouble because Google thought saving me 10 minutes would be a good idea. I should’ve just gone my normal route and not bothered to listen to the stupid app. I am so beyond angry at this app now, it’s absolutely worthless. It’s like the people working on the app are trying to improve it when it was working fine and now it’s causing more issues because those people wouldn’t have a job if they didn’t keep updating the app. It’s pathetic and despicable that I now need to spend HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS to fix my car because this app sent me down a stupid and dangerous route to save 10 minutes!!!!! I am going to use Waze going forward, I’ve already deleted this app off my phone.

More of a frustration app than maps or directions
There is a significant reduction in quality and accuracy with the latest revision.
1) if you want to change directions, you have to completely shut down the app, reenter the app, then select the other destination. If you just press the “x” you are in a never ending loop of directions to the same destination.
2) if you want to refresh directions, again, you have multiple multiple steps. You can’t just go back anymore.
3) the options of directions are significantly more limited. Usually only 1 option now. Rarely is there 2 options. Past version gave you 3 or 4 options. And always included toll & no toll options. Now it only gives you the toll option if you have that selected, or only the no toll option if that’s selected. I always want to compare! Plus the app is too stupid to know when tolls aren’t in affect.
4) it’s just giving horrid directions. Yesterday, I was less than a mile from where I needed to walk to. Yet the stupid app had me going in the opposite direction and walking over 5 miles and over a 10 lane highway four times!! Even when I started walking the correct way, the stupid app kept saying to turn around and go the other much longer and bad way.

New pop ups are too frequent and dangerous
I have always loved Google maps but the recent addition of requests to provide feedback on whether speed cameras are still there etc. are constant, distracting and annoying. I get trying to help get the most up to date info but it constantly asks me about permanent speed cameras rather than actual mobile ones. Also I feel like it should distribute these questions across more people so that it doesn’t feel like I’m constantly getting asked. I’m happy to help every now and then but it’s currently too often. There should also be an option to cancel it off the screen because sometimes it’s blocking key info. Also sometimes I can’t confirm or deny as I wasn’t looking out for whatever it was (too busy focusing on the road) but there isn’t an option to close the screen so I end up putting in a made up answer to close it. This can’t be helpful for getting accurate information. Please update this feature asap!

I LOVE the new features!
I love the new Google Maps features especially the notifications while driving that provide incredibly accurate!!options to: either select a better route to help avoid traffic delays, report a stalled vehicle, a speed trap, or accident. All good to improve the quality of time for travel. My only suggestion is visual for the car image. Like Apple has just released new voices by Gender and Country 😍 is it possible to PLEASE add new cars to watch it travel along on screen in Google Maps? I think children would love this and adults would find it fun too! Something like a little pink buggy, a motorcycle, a little sports car, or even a bike for those of us who bike 🙂 I also like to run 🏃♀️ in the morning, if you can make that little car icon change it’s form to a little runner AWESOME 🤩 this would really make the travel experience by vehicle or human so worth while as we would now be able to customize our user experience to a whole new level!!! Thank You! Nancy Castro, East Hartford, Connecticut

Terrible on new iPhone!
Never had an issue with Google maps before, and I have always used it over Apple Maps as it had been objectively better - however I can’t say this is true after using it on my new iPhone 16 Pro.
“True north”, “Avoid motorways”, voice navigation repeatedly turning itself on and off - sometimes mid journey! It has caused much confusion, has made it very unpleasant and sometimes dangerous to try and follow (if I’m using maps it’s because I’m unfamiliar with an area and therefore not confident either). It’s caused me further delays coming off of a motorway I was perfectly happy driving along to much confusion (and an extra hours journey time) following along like a lemming and assuming Google maps is saving me from an eternity sat in traffic (due to a broken down horse box or whatever), only to find out it’s because google has suddenly decided I don’t like motorways.
It’s highly doubtful I’ve been turning them on in my pocket seeing as it takes me a five minute Google to figure out the uselessly complex way of turning them back off. Feel like I’m being punished for not having a Google pixel with an unusably glitchy app!

Stupid engineering
I used to use google maps a lot because it was the only app that allowed me to add up to 9 stops, as a hospital driver picking up multiple patients this was an excellent option for me because I could put all my stops in the map and could schedule who was my 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on pick ups, but I started to dislike it because now the map shows places I’m not even interested in, example McDonald’s, Subway, tire shop, restaurants, etc. I can’t even see my stops order, A,B,C etc because the stupid logos for those places are blocking my A,B,C stops and I have to zoom in and out trying to figure out if that stop is an A, B or C. Too much garbage shown. Also they need to fix the “Left turns on busy streets, it’s extremely dangerous to make someone turn left an a 2 or more lanes street without a traffic light, I do not always follow turn by turn guidance because I avoid left turns on busy streets without a traffic light, a traffic light will make you turn easier/safer/sooner than without, I also don’t like it when the app shows you “Your location is on the left” No, no, no…not safe, your location should ALWAYS be on the right except if it’s a one way street, public buses for a reason only have the exit/enter doors on the right, never the left, these google maps app developers are stupid for not using common sense, thank god Apple Maps also give me the option to add multiple stops so now I don’t have to use Google.

Bill’s Service
Please know that Bill has been faithfully handling my yard for 25+ years. The field by my house has a lot of rodents, and they seem to invade my property. But Bill, is always on time even when the rodents come back it may look as though there’s been no service! Bill is always on schedule whenever my yard needs his attention. One area I think I need to report is that I’ve watched him all these years: the machine that is used to tend to the underground seems to be getting heavier for him. Couldn’t Habitat purchase Bill a better machine? Maybe a truck with a ramp. I don’t think Habitat really knows all that he goes through with the ‘old’ machine. He lifts it off the truck, picks it up to get back on the truck, it has to be moved in an awkward position to protect the machine as he goes through my yard with it, and I’m sure there’s more to say about this heavy machine. Bill must be simply tolerating it, so he will do the best work possible. Please Habitat, please allow Bill to use a better machine to ease off any pain he must be going through and simply accepting it. He goes out of his way to do service with consistency and a super, marvelous, sincere attitude. Let’s please get the machinery more current. sincerely, one of your favorite clients :)

A Hidden Gem in Central Coast!
I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Latin restaurant, and it exceeded all my expectations! The food is simply outstanding, with authentic flavours that transport you straight to Latin America. From traditional dishes to more modern takes, everything was delicious and well-prepared. Their cocktails are equally impressive, fresh, flavourful, and perfectly crafted.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for any occasion. On top of that, the prices are super affordable, which makes it even better! And let’s not forget the excellent customer service, every staff member was friendly and attentive, making the entire experience truly enjoyable.

28” x 12” oil puddle on my garage floor!!
I went in for the first time since I’ve owned my 2017 Toyota Highlander to get an oil change today. Up until today I have always done the oil changes and maintenance for fluids. I just had shoulder surgery and wasn’t able to get under to do the maintenance for this period. I made a big mistake by going in and letting this shop service my vehicle. After my oil change was done. I drove home and parked in the garage. I then went on a 30 mile bike ride. When I returned approximately an hour and a half later, I noticed a large pool of oil under my car. I called the shop and was told to bring it right back so they could do it right and they wanted to take care of me. I was given a story that my car is a car that has oil filter O-rings that commonly fail. I’ve been doing my oil changes on this vehicle for several years and I’ve never had, this problem or a leaky filter of any kind on this vehicle. Now I’m not an ASE certified mechanic, but I do know how to unthread something and re-thread it back in properly with everything in place as it should be. i’ve heard that the shops can be problematic and now I know, firsthand! Get an oil change at the shop at your own risk. By the way, purple power seems to work pretty good at cleaning up large oil spills in your garage.
