  • Excellent tracker

I had started using the app years ago and found between it and the web tools to be very good for tracking purposes. Tried several of the way to start a trip and always found support to be wonderful and fast. My need for the app decreased so I stopped using it and deleted all of the details to one day start fresh. As I get closer to retirement I want to travel more and use the app as a diary of where I have been and for how long. I started using it again and found it to be more stable and reliable than it had been a couple of years ago. The one ‘pain point’ for me was location tagging because those specifics we’re important to me. To be clear it always tracked locations well via lat lon and address but naming was not as consistent. I could go to the web and work on my list there and it would suggest business names which is what I wanted, but it took extra steps to manage. To my joy, the app update this week added the AI location feature to help identify locations and it is a killer feature. Solid five stars!!!

  • Cost me $$$hundreds in lost data

This app worked great for over a year, but in the last month it has been unreliable! I was using it to document billable hours on job sites and mileage. I got extremely busy and didn’t check it for close to a month, when I attempted to consult it to produce my time and expense reports I found it sporadically failed to record although I left it running in the background continuously and allowed it Always access to GPS, used the most sensitive auto “magic” settings. I have spent literally days attempting to reconstruct my billables through email texts phone calls and paper receipts. I have not been able to document all of my time and will forfeit my compensation! I loved this app until it failed to be reliable! I will go back to recording my time and mileage on a paper note pad. I am angry and disappointed with this app. Good luck to you all and do not trust TripLog for critical data!!

  • Works perfectly!

I have been using TripLog for around 6-8 months now and have no complaints. Magic Trip logs all my daily driving for work. I’m a home remodeling contractor, so I drive much much more than the average person. TripLog is accurate enough and functions very well in the background on my phone. I keep the app open all the time, and review my trips at random just to ensure it’s logging mileage properly.
I’m a satisfied customer. I went through several apps before finding TripLog. So, if you’re like me and need a mileage tracker app that functions smoothly with little to no requirements of your time…look no further. This app is for you!
As my title states: TripLog is perfect!

  • Captures everything without me having to think

My go to mileage tracking. I can go back at the end of the year and see where I drove to to categorize it correctly by viewing the map exactly where I drove to. It is very easy to use. Support has been great and troubleshooting issues i’ve had with different beacon or TripLog GPS, but was able to figure things out set things up right. I have tried other apps for mileage tracking, and they don’t offer the amount of categories that TripLog does I can choose between medical business, charity, personal commute, and more. I can even have multiple businesses and put in the notes section which business it is for. MileIQ couldn’t do this for me. The GPS device is great because while it automatically tracks every trip that I make where I can go back days, weeks, or months later, it also lets me at any point during a trip leg categorize it as business or personal, which is great because most the time, I forget to press the button until I have stopped at the next leg. But with the gps usb, I catch it on time which helps later when i go back in the app and double check.

  • Great service for a great price

I evaluated several different apps for mileage tracking. I went with TripLog for the price and reporting export capabilities from the web. I liked the auto start feature on it. I added the TripLog Beacon to help the tracking start sooner. I can adjust the locations as necessary, in case the wrong location is auto identified. Such as in a strip mall, that can happen. Each trip can be easily identified as business, personal, or other. A couple items of note. If you need to update your account email address. Make sure to have your data synced from your phone to the web before the change. Also, if you merge locations, double check to make sure the locations are the ones you want to merge. As it can take some time to unwind an incorrect merge.

  • Lots of problems and terrible support

I've been using this app for years and had problems with the app in several vehicles using the Bluetooth mode. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it starts and then doesn't end the trip. Sometimes is starts the odometer over to zero and then I have to try to figure out where it messed up and fix it and all subsequent trips. Given all the issues, I finally let my subscription expire. I made the mistake of not running the year to date reports the day before my subscription ended. Now, even though I've paid for over 15 years of using this app over 9 months of the current year, this company will not allow me to have my year to date report without giving them more money. I'm so glad I'm moving onto better options. I would highly recommend you do, too!

To address the developer response: I did have the ability to export reports from the app only version. That was part of what I paid for. But, now that I no longer want to pay for the app, your app will not let me export the reports for the time I paid for. You disabled that feature after my subscription ended even though I only want my data for the time I paid for. Poor customer service. They could allow me to export my data without another payment if they truly wanted to help me. Enable that feature just to allow me to get my data and turn it off again. Pretty simple.

Hello AJPoe, Normally with our paid services you are able to access the web to run reports and we have a secondary cloud backup. These are the services that we have currently and have supported for the last 3 years. The plan that you had subscribed to was our older app only version of the app that did not have the web sync. We would not be able to give you the report due to the data residing only on your phone as we had explained on the ticket. We suggested that you would need the current subscription to be able to sync and get the report off your device. This is a single-month subscription to self serve or we offered to activate your account temporarily to accommodate. If there was a misunderstanding of how we needed to help you feel free to rejoin that conversation for further instructions.
  • Best so far!!

I never write reviews ever!!! But, I recently became self employed & in need to find a decent/reliable app to help me come tax time!! I honestly have used all these apps I'm about to list & paid for the first month too! (Everlance, Hurdlr, Stride, & this TripLog)! I even possibly forgot some along the way!! After reading about them all, you-tubing them, word of mouth, & personal experience… I personally Love with out a doubt- Triplog!!!

The app itself is on point with gps coordinates. I love how I can edit details to them separately & look days later on the route i took each day. I can customize or add tags also.

I’m too new to this app, i can’t say much more than that- but after you mess around with the buttons & the top right Play button will let you watch videos & that I wish I knew about right away!! TripLog is definitely so far hands down the BEST mileage tracker out there , at least for me!

Give it a try, you have nothing to loose with the 17 day Free Trial!! then its only $5.99 a month & you can have the free version, but why wouldn’t you pay for it? After-all, you can write it off come the end of the year!

  • Finally - I’m tracking my mileage!

I have been looking for this app for years. I tried to manually keep track of my miles, then I bought another program where I had to remember to type it in every single time I drove.

TripLog is phenomenal because it automatically records your starting and stopping and knows when every trip is over. You can just go back in quickly edit the trips as personal and business mileage and it will tell you exactly what you’re saving in $$.

Looking forward to the little USB tracker so I can know when I’m in my biz car and won’t thave to manually change it. This is a great program. Highly recommend it. Paid for itself in a week.

  • When it works its great unfortunately that’s only about 20% of the time

At this point I’m ready to ask for my money back. I pay yearly for the subscription with auto beacon that is supposed to start tracking my mileage when it hits 5 mph. I use this for work as I drive nearly 1200 miles per week. I find more often than not that I am missing entire days is because it never bothers to kick on the auto beacon. I’m constantly having to go back and try to track the mileage on my own which is very irritating considering I pay for the service. When it works it’s great; unfortunately I’m finding that recently it’s only about 20% of the time that it actually works. I’ve tried multiple different USB ports in my car and nothing seems to help. My suggestion is save your money.

  • Best In-Vehicle GPS, Mileage, and Auto Expense Solution Out There

Finding a good, low-cost solution for managing mileage and expenses is tough. The cheap ones are usually unreliable and barely give you the data you need. Expensive ones are typically very intricate and not-so-simple to get around within and manage, when necessary. TripLog rocks. I am a former Mobility Application Solutions guy that worked within the Industry & Mobility Application Solutions team at AT&T for about a decade or more and I definitely tout TripLog as the best product in this category for your money. Over the last 10 years, as the owner of a growing IT business, this tool has become indispensable. We install and manage networks all over a multi state area. We might service multiple customers per day or a single customer for a month or more. We can very easily, from anywhere, calculate time on a job site with absolute accuracy. Fuel expenses, mileage and breadcrumb trails are always readily available with a couple of clicks. And the reliability is fantastic. I've seen a couple of glitches over the last few years but nothing major and each was easily rectified. I highly recommend this solution and bow down to the developer. Well written cloud solution and app, great performance, and the reliability that matters.
