  • Cannot afford premium for greek

I wish to learn greek, but unfortunately I can only choose basics... good app though, just wish it had more free options.

Thank you for your feedback and for saying Go Talk is a good app. Sadly, we can't afford to make the app for free because we have bills to pay. For each language, we employ two native speaking translators and two native speaking voice artists - one man and one woman. We also rely on our hard-working tech guys to keep the app updated. However, do please do contact our customer support team ( support@utalk.com ) who are always keen to come up with ideas to help with any problem. With all good wishes, Sarah
  • I love it

My husband is Laotian and his whole family speaks Lao. There is no Rosetta Stone for Lao and my husband is not a “teacher” so I decided I wanted to learn so I could communicate with the family and hopefully pass along some culture to our children. I started with the free version and checked the pronunciation and translation with him (native speaker) and when they were spot on and very proper, I upgraded to the full version and I LOVE it. There are so many words, very useful selection with matching images. I haven’t played the games yet with the full version but so far I am beyond impressed. I can’t wait to incorporate a few minutes of Lao practice a day and surprise my in-laws at the next gathering!

Thank you for your 5* review - we’re really thrilled that uTalk Lao is helping you connect with your extended family. We always use two native speaking translators as well as two native speaking voice artists - one man and one woman - on all our language learning apps so it’s lovely that your husband said our pronunciation and translation were spot on. We hope you and your children will enjoy learning the language and surprising your relatives! Wishing you lots of language learning success. 😊 Best wishes, Sarah PS If you ever want to learn more Lao words and phrases please get in touch with us at support@utalk.com and we’ll gladly point you in the right direction.
  • Sync progress with other device?

I enjoy using this app. I previously paid for extras for 2 languages but there doesn’t seem to be the option to pick up where you left off on your iPhone to your iPad as I can’t see any setting to sync. This is a little annoying when I have plenty of progress on my phone but the only thing I can do is download previous purchases but not synced progress between them both. I hope to see the option to sync through iCloud soon?

Many thanks for your review. Its great to hear you enjoy using the app! We do understand what you mean re syncing between your iPhone and iPad and this is something we have been working on for sometime. Please contact support@utalk.com as we may be able to help. With best wishes, Sarah
  • This would be helpful

Wish you could click on each separate word to see the meaning

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback. More than half of our vocabulary is made up of single words for which there is a one word translation in the phrase practice section. But we take your suggestion about phrases. At the moment, we’re focusing on adding new languages to our apps but your request is definitely in our future wish list. Best, Sarah
  • Great so far

I just downloaded this app today to learn a bit of Macedonian and Georgian... really beautiful app design and I think I will be able to learn well from this app. That being said, and I really do hope the developers see this because this is an important part of learning any language, I think, I would find it very helpful to include a literal word-for-word translation along with the phrase. For example learning Mongolian, you get all these seemingly random words and letters and I would just like to understand what purpose each part of the phrase serves, rather than just memorizing specific phrases. I will continue to use this app of course! I only wish it didn’t cost money because I can’t really afford it but I understand it has to make money somehow. Overall great app and I look forward to seeing more improvements!

Thanks for the feedback and for saying our app design is beautiful! We’re glad you like it and are pleased it’s helped you learn Macedonian and Georgian. uTalk focuses on giving learners the speaking and listening skills they need in a new language and always uses native speakers so users learn to speak like the locals. We also give direct translations of all the individual words used and the overall meaning of all the phrases used in a choice of 140 languages. We take your point that you’d like a word by word translation of the phrases as well and this is something we can look into in the future but, at the moment, we’re concentrating our efforts on supporting new languages. The choice of how we best spend our resources is a really tough one to make... Best wishes, Sarah
  • It would mean alot if..

  • Learning Fijian

I have been using uTalk for a couple of weeks to learn Fijian. Super easy learning format. I like how the app uses a native Fijian man and woman to pronounce each word/phrase!

    Developer Response

Thanks for your 5* review of uTalk - we’re thrilled! We’re also pleased that you’re enjoying learning Fijian and that you like our two Fijian speakers. :) We always use native speakers - one male and one female - for all our 140 languages so that people can learn to speak like the locals. We also work hard to make our apps fun so that learning isn’t a chore. We hope your language skills go from strength to strength! Best wishes, Sarah
  • Great but...

Its nice to help people learn languages, and yes, the beginner words are good for starters, but why pay to learn? This is about education, not money. If u want to charge people, at least make a few more words free. Thanks for your time.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your feedback and for rating Go Talk. We work hard to make effective language learning apps and are pleased to provide starter words for free. But we do have to charge for more content because we have bills to pay. Making the product relies on native speaking translators, native speaking voice artists, IT guys and other support staff and none of us can afford to work for free. How we wish we could!! All funding offers gratefully received at support@utalk.com :) Best wishes, Sarah
  • Awesome app for learn a language

I’m really impressed with this app. I’ve studied many languages in my life and find that this app makes it very easy to learn and reinforce what you have learned in a very effective way. I’m looking forward to learning another language with the help of this program. It is well worth the money for the premium. I wish I could share with my family without having to repurchase for them. Family sharing does not work with this app as it has in app purchases.
It’s an awesome app that I will recommend to my family and friends despite.

Hi there. We really appreciate your 5* review and for saying Go Talk is awesome - Thank you! We’re also pleased you’d like to share the app with your family and we understand your problem. One way to do this without paying again is to share your email and password with them. They can then log into Go Talk on any device using your details and restore purchases on that device. Alternatively Go Talk allows you to set up different users on the same device - just go to settings top left hand corner of the language selection screen and click on 'users' to set up and select other users. Each user's scores will then be maintained separately. I hope this is helpful but please get in touch with us at support@utalk.com if you have any other problems or queries and we will do our best to help you. Best wishes, Sarah
