  • So...what do I do again?

I have no clue what the objective is...I'm sure there is one but it's has to be more clearer.
  • Beautiful Game. Read this.

First off the graphics are very eye catching. Like the other reviews the controls are very confusing at first. Do the tutorials first and start off with touch controls to get the gist of the game. The game is challenging, and requires good coordination. My only gripe is some the challenges for the ropes are confusing to figure out. But overall the game is very pretty, and fun to play.

  • Beautiful, high expectations, disappointed

I've had this game for a couple of weeks now and I still can't figure out how exactly to play. The interface isn't intuitive at all, and the instructions are too busy being clever to be helpful. The graphics are wonderful and I feel like this could've been an awesome game - but the controls are just too difficult to intuit for it to be any fun. Bad design and controls isn't the same as "challenging."

  • Unpredictable and unbalanced

Fun at first, but eventually I came to hate the unpredictability of rope orientation once you let go of a cloud. This makes it *very* hard to move around quickly, much less accurately. Someone watching me play asked, "Is that doing what you're telling it to do?" Not really, at least it often feels that way.

The worst is falling without spin so you have no chance to re-latch, thus hitting the ground which is also way over penalized. A close second is defaulting boost to latch while it recharges.

I love the concept and the look, and I really want to like this game. But I'd trade the flashy menu animations for more standard UI interactions, better usability in game, and a general feeling of control over my fate.

Lots of potential here and I hope to see improvements. As implemented now it's borderline unplayable. :/

  • Masterpiece!

A beautiful, stunning game. Hard controls, however, you will pick them up very fast! With a detailed tutorial, you will love the app. I haven't put the app down, since I downloaded it! I am so happy to have this app in my 'best app' folder!
  • A beautiful game that seems to lack a purpose

The game is beautiful. It just is. The game I intuitive and original. Once you take the time to learn to play the game, it's great! But the main thing that puts me off is that there's no story. No explanation as to why I'm doing this, or why the hedgehog is doing this. It seems like its not a big deal, but it REALLY bothered me because there is literally NO explanation of anything. A cut and dry tutorial and that's it.

  • Annoying...but good...kind of...

It is quite hard to learn how to play...and how come more detailed is a bad choice? I think I needed more details. Also very frustrating to play; whenever I want to put out a rope, I boost. I think you should have to press the boost button to boost instead of tap anywhere. Also, the rope should stay out for a longer amount of time instead of sucking back in.
I do like the graphics, though. It is also cool how you can test the ropes as well. (Bouncing of the mountain is fun too!) There is a good amount of potential, and if you keep working on this game it will be great!

  • Looks great, little substance

Firstly the game is beautiful, J. J. Abrams style lens flair reliance, but aesthetically pleasing.

There is little in the way of game play; the controls take a while to get use to, but they are fluid and clever. Unless I am missing something, there really isn't a goal beyond the obvious. It is a tedious game and with out any inventive to continue game play, I'd say its had it last day on my home screen.

There is serious potential, just need some serious tweaking

  • A very polished, but hard to understand game

I can see all the details the developer took care in creating - the transitions are seamless, the art direction is beautiful, and the core game mechanics are addictive. The problem for me, is I never quite know what I'm doing, the UI is very minimal, with little to no text - I'm all for discovery and user curiosity, but perhaps a little more hand holding is necessary, especially with concepts in menus - what your score means, how to unlock more ropes, are there more levels? The ingame tutorial is fine, that got me up and running in no-time (though the quick vs in-depth option I still don't get. And i kind of felt dumb for picking the 'wrong' option at first.)

My other critique is I want to be able to control where the rope gets thrown, it seems like there is a pattern to where it comes out from the spinning hedge hog, but it's never where I want it to. I'm sure that is suppose to be part of the charm, but I find it frustrating.

I do look forward to updates as this game evolves. I do think its special.

  • A Gem of the AppStore

Wide sky is a game that is in the shadow of big companies everywhere, but it shouldn't be. This game is amazing, addictive, and beautiful. The gameplay is hard at first, but some practice always does it, and the menu is still able to do its job after some journeying. GET THIS GAME. You won't regret it!
