Buggy, sluggish interface
The Donatos app—which is basically a glorified wrapper for their mobile site—has been painfully buggy and slow in recent months. Feels like a hosting problem, but likely is a problem on Donato’s end too. What’s wrong?! -Site inconsistently shows user login status, points, etc. -Most web requests take much, much too long to get serviced. (The main website is slow too, but not nearly as bad.) -App offer deals and promotions before user has picked their store (and, for no reason, users can’t make their store permanent! Always a huge annoyance!) -Often drops carts, promotions etc after making changes to almost anything Get your act together, folks! Here’s the ultimate frustrating thing: recent app reviews and their responses constantly ask for details, but the team/developers doesn’t seem able/willing/prioritized-enough by corporate to make the needed (extensive!) fixes. It’s super frustrating.

One of the worst food apps
There is absolutely no reason for this app to be rated as it is. The thing never works and it’s been that way for years. So much so to the point I have avoided the restaurant aside from when family wants it.
There are consistently problems with payment. Need to update your card on file because the old one expired? Sure there is a button. Typed in all your info? Yup! Click save - nothing happens. Click save 30 more times, close it, open it find all your data is still there and hit save again? Nada. Go to your profile instead of the cart to replace your payment info? Sure - same issue though. Force close the app and then type it all in and save it? That works! But… now you can’t get back to the cart because the button to close the menu is off the screen.
Cool. Cool. Force close it again and get back in the cart. Go to order and address can’t be verified. Well that’s odd. Type in the address again and it gives you the “suggested address”, select it aaannnddd - address can’t be verified.
Throw phone. Pick up phone. Call order in. Awesome.
I would love to say this was a once issue but it’s not. App has been deleted and reinstalled. Have had the issues on multiple phones. This app is completely trash and any amount of user acceptance testing would have caught that.

Pizza is great, App needs a lot of work
Having to select a store, then exit the store’s menu via the large Donato’s logo to get back the tab options at the bottom of the app to look at deals for the store whose menu you just left is incredibly unintuitive.
The app also fails to save my login information and refuses to let me log in after 1 use. As a workaround you can delete the app, redownload it, log in, and this will let you place a SINGLE order to get/use rewards features before closing the app and again being logged out permanently until you delete and redownload the app again.
I love Donato’s pizza, but as expensive as it is compared to competitors it gives a gut feeling like this incredible disconnect in the app’s user experience for MONTHS now is deliberately to inconvenience the customer so that they don’t bother with the hassle of gaining their rewards points or using them to cut the price of their orders even a little bit.
I get significantly less Donato’s than I used to because of how clunky and disappointing the app is to deal with.

Thank you for this very specific feedback! We definitely don't want to inconvenience our customers, and it helps to know what the pain points are so we can fix them! You should be able to click in the red banner at the top of the menu to get to deals once you've selected a location. And, you should be able to get rewards points without logging in. Bugs, crashing
EDIT: The absolute worst, downgraded to one star. You can’t even log in, it just keeps refreshing and then gives an error. It’s been like this for months even after reinstalling multiple times. I no longer buy Donatos because I will not reward incompetence.

I always get errors that it can’t download the menu, find my store, or just gives me error codes without explanation. Tried clearing cache, redownloading it, nothing works. The app along with their website is incredibly slow too. I love the food which is why I gave it two stars but the app itself is a lost cause.

Worst app
This app is absolutely ridiculous. Not only is glitchy and stupidly hard to navigate, but overall it’s just never user friendly. I added a bunch of stuff to the cart, needed to go back and review the deals, and could’t easily get back there without having to hit the back button an annoyingly amount of times. You’d think you’d place a stationary menu bar somewhere to easily navigate throughout the app. But nah. Do you want to order just a cheese pizza? Nope, it won’t let you order a cheese pizza until you select an option either under proteins or cheese & veggies, but when you look under cheese & veggies, it only gives you the option of selecting extra provolone cheese. I don’t want extra, I want just a freaking cheese pizza. Got rid of it right away and ordered from somewhere else.

Could be better
The app seems very clunky. It takes a long time to load your profile if at all. Sometimes it won’t load my profile and I have to close the app and reopen it several times to work. When everything does open, and it’s actually your profile, the buttons don’t quite fit your screen, it feels like information is missing. They’re also not very responsive when you try to click on them. My points never populate on the front screen, it just spins like it’s loading. And forget about trying to go into your rewards or profile, I get stuck every time. When I click on my account, the X to close out is over my battery icon (again, nothing seems to fit the screen) and it will never register my touch to close, I have to restart the app.
All in all do I get my pizza, yes. Is it cumbersome to place the order, absolutely.

App and website not applying coupons
UI is fine and easy to navigate. I selected a coupon for a $5 sub with a large pizza. Both items were in my cart and the coupon said it was applied but the total never changed and the discount section showed $0.00 off when it should have been $3ish. I tried the same order on the website and it worked at first but then refreshed and lost the discount. In the app there is also no way of going back to the coupons once you’re in the cart screen. Please fix.

App Started Good
I have delete and reassess app multiple times but doesn’t fix the weird glitches that keep occurring. Such as trying to enter in CC info and it gives error about things not matching. So you copy and paste again leave the cc info screen and go back to it and it works. Or when you finally hit submit it tells you it can’t verify the address you have you used multiple times. Finally get it to accept order after all that and get a pop up that says we will see you tomorrow and then confirmation screen saying it would be there in 30-45mins.

Worst app and website ever
Donatos has the worst website and app ordering system ever. I would order from here more, but every time I end up cussing and swearing because their order system is glitchy and does not let you apply promo codes. You end up having to make the order over and over again like some insane loop. It has been like this for years and Donatos just does not care enough to fix it. At this point I am boycotting Donatos till they hire someone to overhaul their ordering system. It is ridiculous in this day and age that a company would neglect their online presence like this. Even mom and pop places have online ordering that is not as frustrating as this.

Frustrating app
Trying to log in, the app keeps asking for my phone passcode, what!?! Deleted app, downloaded again, logged in (without phone passcode), selected a menu item, and app started asking again for my phone passcode. Uh, no, just no. Deleted app a second time and re-downloaded, managed to place an order. Needed to fix my phone number in the acct info because it is missing the last digit. It won’t let me edit ANY acct info, the screen keeps reloading without giving me access to the info, and I am logged in (just placed an order.) Tried accessing customer service, click on the link and it simply reloads your account page without showing any customer service contact info. Really frustrating. Hate the app. No confidence in app security at all.
