My Posts Get No Views. What Happened To This App?
I've used this app during the earlier days. It worked great! I had no issues posting ads, getting views, or selling. Then changes were made: auction, boosts, 5miles cash, fees, and so on throughout the years. Fine, developers need to generate revenue, I get it. However, this app seems to be a scam or is broken. None of my ads receive hits, views, or is seen - No matter the item, description, location, or boost. Unless your paying, your ads will not be seen. This app has really gone down hill.
UPDATE: I listed a vehicle for sale then noticed I could not make any edits. I deleted the ad to create a new one only to discover that additional charges to list a vehicle was added. If the app actually worked, displayed newly and active ads, regulated spam from "power users" and scams......it might be justified.
I would give this app a 0 star rating if available.

Good app, low exposure
App is good but like one user noted there’s just not much traction. Creator needs to add more users using incentives. So much potential

I couldn't even enter my bank card details properly; even after entering the full link provided, the system wouldn't proceed and just kept making me wait. It’s far too complicated—after finally managing to list an item for sale, the system wouldn't let the listing go through. I suspect this secondhand marketplace app is actually just a way to harvest users' personal data; even after exiting the app, there is no way to delete the email address, phone number, and ID information I had already entered.

Waste of time.
As a seller, it’s pretty much a waste of time. The app is chock full of scam accounts. There are even fake 5miles customer service accounts that have been active all month. They won’t even shut those down. At least they took the counterfeit goods auctions off the home page. I’m sure that chased away a lot of legit buyers. Used to be a great app. Those days are long gone.

I am writing to formally demand the immediate deletion of my 5miles account and all personal information associated with it, including but not limited to my name, phone number, email address, profile information, and any other personal data maintained in your systems.
I have previously submitted multiple requests for account deletion. Despite those requests, my personal information continues to appear on your platform, and my phone number remains associated with the account. This is unacceptable and has caused significant frustration.
I am requesting written confirmation that:
My account has been permanently deleted.
My phone number has been removed from your records and is no longer associated with any account.
My personal information has been deleted from your active systems, subject only to any legal retention requirements.
My profile and identifying information are no longer publicly visible on your platform.
Please treat this as a formal request for deletion and provide confirmation of completion no later than June 29, 2026.
If this matter is not resolved by that date, I will evaluate all available options for pursuing further action and filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection and privacy authorities.
I expect a prompt response confirming that my request has been completed.

You have to have a min of $200 in your physical bank account to sell your items, and they want your card info before you’re allowed to speak with the person who wants to by the item. Sketchy AF!
Easy to scam people
I have been contacting customer service for days, I even reported this person who is using my pictures of my animals for her scam!!! I guess if people are using the app in some kind of way “business is business” right ? Ridiculous. Worse than Craigslist, at least you can flag scams for removal on there. This app is a joke.

Ordered an item almost 3 months ago, still haven’t got anything in the mail and customer service won’t ever respond to you. If you like getting ripped off, wasting your time waiting for nothing and being ignored this is the app for you

May 17, 2026 Scammed out of $160.00 during account verification process through the chat support then 5mile chat offered to provide an extra $150.00 good faith compensation ONLY if I load an additional $300.00 to my card to complete the verification process for selling my items. I deleted the account

Apple sign in doesn’t work
Cannot get signed up for this app.
Items sold here are years old.
I’m on here looking for a playstation 5 pro and all of the listings here have been posted longer than 2 years ago. There’s no listing’s on the app that are recent, i haven’t been able to find a listing that’s recent or found reliable enough to pursue farther, i doubt anyone will get back to me let alone meet up with me to sell the item to me. That goes for almost any item on this app. This app is almost a ghost town now.

Developers are MIA. Don’t bother with this.

There are no sales and the “people” who respond are bots or scammers with the same messages over and over, Don’t waste your time.

Very few listings in NC? Unable to do Forgot Password
I don’t know if it’s North Carolina or in general, but only found about 15 items in 50 miles radius for clothing categories. Also, I was registered from NY a while back and the forgot password section shows gray for me and it doesn’t work.
Needs to be updated
Used to get a lot’s of customers who would view my items, now I only get 1 view each time . Since 5miles doesn’t fix their many broken issues, they are loosing customers!
As sellers, we’d love to see stronger promotion and visibility for the 5miles app.
Many listings show little to no views, which makes the marketplace feel quiet—even though there are active buyers and quality products available. Some ideas that could help: • More marketing to bring in new buyers • Increased in-app promotion for active sellers • Better discovery for new or updated listings • Clearer guidance on how sellers can gain visibility The platform has potential, but stronger promotion could make a big difference. Curious to hear if other sellers feel the same.
