This app, with Piper and others who are featured bring light to the Word of God and take focused looks into common Q's, age old puzzles, and current events. This ATP app helps us, any waffling skeptic or sound believer, be stronger and able to attack with HS informed guidance for personal problems, family feuds and spiritual battles. This is palatable, bite-sized & focused on the Holy Word. We want to know what God thinks, and these sermonettes help us do just that. Piper has opinions and bents, but so do you and me. It grew me small
My boyfriend at the time (now husband) spoke very highly of Pastor John Piper's teaching. I wanted to like listening to the sermons, but I was so distrusting at first and couldn't really listen to any of them.. The 'Ask Pastor John' app is where I learned how Jesus-loving, Gospel-centered, humble and honest Pastor John and the teaching staff at Desiring God are. I mean, the teaching and hard questions answered not only helped me trust these people and the teaching coming from them but led me to grow and love the Word of God so much more. I have days when I cook and clean for hours crying and praying and praising God while listening to Ask Pastor John or sermons of his on Desiring God. The Gibbs household has been so blessed and changed through the hearing of your preaching!

So grateful for this app!
I found this app in the midst of a difficult trial that ultimately brought me closer to God. To know that many of my brothers and sisters in Christ (whom I have never met personally) are listening with me is comforting and reminds me of our collective love for Christ. The questions are incredibly relevant--often to the day. The answers are all backed up by scripture. Pastor John's generosity in sharing wisdom is so greatly appreciated. From Theology to Practice
The Apostle Paul sets a precedent in his epistles for the way we ought to learn as Christians. He exults in the glorious promises we have in Christ, and then explains how these promises impact our lives. Dr. Piper mirrors this teaching methodology in such brief, yet powerful, responses to modern issues. I have yet to find a better living scholar who can examine complex issues, apply biblical theology, and provide pragmatic wisdom for the average laymen than Pastor John. Praise God for this app! Other podcasts have great stuff to pick through, but this is the one I choose to listen to every single episode without fail. A fantastic variety of topics are covered with such wisdom and humility... Pastor John's heart for Jesus shines through. Sometimes I think I learn even more from his approach & attitude toward a topic than from the answer itself, so even if the subject of a particular question doesn't interest me, I listen anyway (and am usually glad I did).
