Robbed by Takealot
I had ordered a gift for my sister. And to make it easier on her So she wld not hve to drive to collect her gift; I asked her to withdraw R60 from my SA bank account. (She has signing power). I live in England.
I ordered something for her bday.
The courier came. Told her he could not deliver until he had counted the cash. He took the money, she asked for a receipt ; he told her he cld not giver her one, but the office would. And she has her parcel anyway.
Guess what was in her parcel? A set of floor polishing brushes.
Never cld get the floor brushes collected again. Never saw the R60 again. And when I finally started writing to Takealot about this robbery. Takealot said „customer had refused the parcel and there is still a delivery fee to be paid.
Finally my sister had to go and collect her parcel. She called ahead to find out from which warehouse. They told her where to collect her parcel. So, off she drove, produced my letter to prove that her parcel is to be collected from takealot, after showing her ID etc. They THEN told her that her parcel is in another warehouse.
So, off she went again and finally could collect her parcel after having to pay another R60.
So, BYE BYE TAKEALOT. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY GFROM SUCH A LOT OF CROOKS. AND, they are all in it together.
I hve it in writing. So I can say it.

Orders get sent to the wrong place
I have placed many orders with takealot and 80 percent of them end up as expected. However these other 20 percent left have costed me 280 Rands so far that I don’t know what to do to have it back. Long story short, I bought two packs of two of spoon rester but only got one pack of two, when I contacted takealot they asked me pictures of my order ( it’s was a lot of other items too), however at that time I had already sent the order to a different location so I could not make a picture, now I don’t know how I can have either my money back or the other pack of the spoon rester. In addition I have received in the past many order that were not mine however I have always returned them.

It’s Simply Good
The app is quite simple to navigate around, it’s got quite a variety of products, and it’s really easy to use. I would recommend it.
Searching for products
Takealot has always been a consumers dream. The only issue I have with Takealot’s app is the search functionality. I find that many times I’m searching for something, I can’t find that item on takealot but as soon as I Google search the item it links me to a takealot page of the product that I had searched for earlier. This happens with many products. It’s for this reason I hope takealot can work with there indexing and database teams to get this resolved.

Poor Customer Service
I recently tried to purchase a tv from takealot. It requested that I verify my tv license and I entered all valid information and it said my account was in arrears. Even after making two payments for the tv license the site kept giving an error message stating the account was in arrears. I contacted customer service who pretty much told me there was nothing they could do coz that’s how their system works. Just lost a customer!

Does Not Accept Angola 🇦🇴 Visa Card
I’m disappointed as takealot did not accept my Angolan cards. I had to use my European card for a purchase. If I didn’t have a European card you can imagine
