Crashes after latest update
Love this app but after the latest update it crashes every time I open it. Once that’s fixed it will be 5 starsrbkelley2118
Best app for character creation, one question however
Is there ever any intention of creating a way for the Dm to create a folder containing all character sheets for the group but also being able to host the session allowing the players the ability to log in and maintain/run their own characters. It would be great to have the ability to see your players sheets when prepping for a session. Also it adds ways to mess with them if you can add or remove items without their knowledge to drive the story. Also would allow easy trading among the party and maybe initiative and hp tracking for the dm.Show lessKBarr613

Great on PC
I love Herolab. I have nearly ever Pathfinder source available for it. On the PC, I can create characters, encounters, and everything else the program is supposed to do. On the iPad, I can use the character sheet. That is it. I can attempt to create characters, buit it consistently crashes on thing where there are choices to be made. Feats, traits, spells, really anything where there is a choice to be made. I was once told this was a memory usage issue. Maybe. Except, there are no apps running in the background. It cycles through the feats, or whatever, and the app just closing, losiong several minutes of character creation. Again, this problem only occurs on the iPad and I completely stand by Lone Wolf on the PC version. The iPad app however, abysmal with tremendous potential. Absolutely Worth the Investment
I can solemnly swear that without the use of Hero Labs, I would have struggled and eventually lost interest in Pathfinder. Being relatively NEW to tabletop gaming, it was key in allowing me to become a better party member and actually create amazing characters without having to purchase 300 books. So, for those new to creating characters, it simply is the best tool outside the Core Book.
I should also mention that in my party, I am playing with seasoned players (playing since D&D 2) and they were the ones who recommended me to use this program! If you can afford the investment, whether you are a veteran player or not, you will find value in this brilliant piece of programming.Show lessSour Eggz
Great Software
Developer provides frequent updates, software does almost everything I'd want, makes it really difficult to go back to pen and paper.
I feel it could be a little bit better for spellcasters (die rolls for spell damage, time of effects, etc.) that can make things cumbersome. Some strides have been made, however, such as add-ons for summoned creatures and wild shape.
Adding additional source books can really start to add up, but the developer has added bundles to bring costs down.Show lessBessieSebastiano
Worth it!
People are saying "wahh, money!" This is a great resource for Pathfinder and other RPG players. Yeah, it has a bit of a price tag, but it's an investment to make sure your characters are being played correctly and to the best of their abilities. If you're so concerned about the price, do what my Pathfinder group did and go in on it with some friends. Split the costs and just get extra licenses for everyone. The others have their Labs on their laptops and I have mine on my iPad along with the rest of my Pathfinder resources. You just have to weigh your options.Show lessAnthroEmily
Love Hero Lab
I was having similar crash sues as other reviewers with the Jan 29th update. It resolved itself when I updated my IPad with the newest apple software update.
I love using hero lab at the table. It's quick and convenient, makes creating characters a breeze, and it's great when one of the other players is going to miss a session at the last minute, they can email over their portfolio or email somebody else their character's stat block so the group can run them in their absence.

Great tool
I got this as I'm quite new to Pathfinder, and have to say it made character creation a breeze after the books were quite daunting reads. Playing with it as the Character Sheet also made it a lot easier keeping track of everything. Would recommend. Little pricey
Looks to be $120 to have full access on your iPad to create a character. Way over the top expensive just to create character sheets.
Better of using pcgen and printing to paper.Guardianmama
