  • Fantastic!

( found no bugs so far in this game, works fine) Best ONLY to play on ipad. This a fantastic version of BG2, with a lot of extra content and characters that are worth buying . it's not a easy game, and it will plenty of times that you will be frustrated by it, and have to retry battles again, as you do have to try out diffrent methods of fighting with your characters, but it's worth it!! It suites the ipad4 as the touch control is spot on ( it can be difficult to enter buildings or to pick up items, but you have to practice, and then you get used to it) . The "bug" of the werewolves attacking the party is passable, you just have to run out the tent casting spells! ( you don't have to go into the tent in the first place) If you have BG2 on the pc already, as I have, it's well worth the cost and the 2gig space, there is just so much to do and re-do. Forget the pretenders to this game of thrones....this is the King!

  • DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Soooooooo many bugs. Game has been restarted so many times because of bugs that are game breakers. If it's not the sidebar issue it's broken gameplay and loops you can't get out of. Or it's the total lack of support. Worst rebuild of a great game I have ever seen. Such a shame you cat fix some pretty basic problems that have been posted everywhere.

  • Sad to say, this simply doesn't work.

I'm a MASSIVE Bg2 fan. Played the original as a young'n and when I saw this last night, I thought "looks like I know what I'm going to be doing on the tube on the way to work for the next six months!". Even at a frankly ridiculous ten quid, it seemed worth it. Sadly, I can't even get the bloody thing to start working. Whenever I play it, after I create my character and the game begins, the screen is black and it hangs. I can click on the screen, open the menus but can't see how to do anything. I've looked online and it seems to be a persistent bug but there's no solution. I shall be looking into getting my money back if possible. This game, which was admittedly buggy as hell when it came out back in the day, is plainly too big a project for such a small studio to manage effectively.

  • Game breaking bug

This is a great rpg. The gameplay and top down view are similar to dragon age, so too is the ability to pursue a romance. Baldurs gate 2 has numerous side quests, expansive customer creation (including what appears to be approximately 50 different classes), a morality counter, the ability to own a stronghold (house) as well as a unique and creative style. This can be clearly seen in various parts of the game (including the demon realm). For all these reasons and more I recommend purchasing this great game.

  • Good game with too many glitches

I have a bug with the illusionary werewolves in the circus tent just after escaping irencus's prison and they have a skill where you die immediately no matter what - players are killed within 3seconds of entering the inner room. When you are trapped in the tent with monsters that kill you off like that it kinda is game breaking. Please fix.

  • Every bit as good as the original

I have just started playing. Imported character from BGEE (with some difficulty) using ifunbox. A great trip down memory lane so far. This is a serious RPG, people. This series is what started it all. Runs a treat on iPad Air, although I have had a couple of crashes.

I guess the only minor issue is that there is no 'tooltip', so you could get stuck in areas where you need to say, push a button. Not really something that can be addressed without a mouse, though.

fan it has not crashed once on my iPad mini

It's a great game if you have played baldurs gate dark alliance (:
  • Bug, yes, but with this game you can work around

The Aerie/circus bug does exist, but it is testament to the sheer brilliance of this game that you can work around what would be a game killer for any other game. Three dispel magic spells, carefully placed, and bug sidestepped. This has always been the glory of BG2 - you can work out some superb ways to defeat something which looks at first blush to be unbeatable. This is a spectacular game - and as with all spectacular games, don't expect it to be gifted to you - you gotta work to beat this one ! :-)

  • Still amazing, some minor bugs

The same old game I few up obsessed with and it STILL holds up to the test of time. Absorbing and brilliant.

Occasional memory leak-esque slow downs ca be annoying ( have to restart app) however.
  • Even better than i remember

The graphics are admittedly dated, however after a short time you wont notice. The writing and gameplay of BG2 easily exceeds a many of newer games. Battles are extremely tactical, and your choice of actions , spells and characters strongly affects your success.
My only criticism is that the touch controls can be a little awkward on occasion, and there are some minor bugs, but this is easily forgiven. You will need to download the manual if you are new to BG, which is available on the publishers website.
