This is a great little app for any non-Sinhala speakers visiting/moving to/working in Sri Lanka, who wish to communicate in the local language: great for revision & an extremely useful smartphone app when out-&-about but not wanting to carry a bulky dictionary.
It leaves the user in no doubt regarding correct pronunciation giving greater confidence in a wide variety of situations.
One tiny gripe is that subject matter could be better grouped - i.e. greetings & responses, plus opposing pairs such as big/small, old/young etc should be next to each other on the page as otherwise there is a bit of a rummage to find them - orders of words & phrases needs to be more logical. Also a search facility would be very helpful; although if you use the app regularly you soon find your way around. It would be further enhanced with some little interactive games so that the app could be used as a more effective learning tool rather than the emphasis being on reference; but as spoken Sinhala language tools are such a rarity, this is still an absolute godsend. Unlike other resources it also teaches communication for the modern age; the first of its kind that I've come across!
Portable & accessible on the iPhone, this is a much better programme than another market leader I could mention - and much better value for money being a snip of the price of the other. Thanks, Nemo!
