No longer compatible

I have been using all of the Proton apps and services for a while now (and absolutely loving them) but unfortunately as of one of the recent updates to Pass iOS 16 is required to install updates that without them prevent you from being able to log in; I only have an iPhone 7 and cannot update past iOS 15. Would you consider adding backwards compatibility somehow or will I just have to not use this app anymore? Thanks!

Always Loyal…

I have been a Protonmail Visionary Customer for many years. My loyalty to them comes down to a day close to a decade ago when one of their reps helped me save my account. I’ll never forget not only the kindness of this unknown individual but also just how this proved the sincerity and truthful the company is in their goal of privacy and wanting to make this available to anybody whom desires it.
I believe this is one of the extremely few and rare corporations of this world where the employees believe in their product(s) and endeavors.
You have our loyalty.

Superb Quality and Ethics ❤️

The Proton line of security & privacy-focused products are the best I’ve had the pleasure to use. Everything within their Proton Pass product has been so easy to use. It is well thought out, highly secure, and developed by some of the greatest icons in the industry. You really don’t need to look any further for a password manager, or any of the other products they offer if I may add. I love this company, what they stand for, and how beautifully thought out their products are.

Seems OK

I am a current 1Password subscriber and was looking to amalgamate my manager/email etc. As I already use Proton Mail, I imported my 1Password info into Proton Pass. That went surprisingly well. However, the deal breaker for me and what is stopping me moving over to Proton Pass 100%, is that there currently is no Safari extension. This seems to be a major oversight at this time. Until there is on, I am back to using 1Password. Proton is missing a big trick here.

Hi! The Safari extension has been released a while ago. You can download it at: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/proton-pass-for-safari/id6502835663?mt=12.

It’s a sort-of Password Manager

It will generate a strong, random - or otherwise, password for you…… which you then have to store somewhere else. Seriously??!!! Who writes this stuff?!

It’s the thought that counts, I guess.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to review our app. To explain this, iOS has a “strong password suggestion” feature which suggests and saves the password to the keychain even when a 3rd party password manager is enabled. This only works for iCloud keychain, 3rd party app like us have no way to supersede it. We have already complained about this to Apple, and here's a relevant discussion in the Apple community forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254277375?sortBy=rank

App is solid-1000 entries

I’ve had Pass since it rolled out. I used my previous own manger as backup to date. Just to be safe. 1000 Password logins with notes all highly encrypted, all safe, dual passwords, and one more layer protection using a 2FAor MFA TOTO

There was no need to, Pass has been incredible, the encryption alone, make it my choice.

I see one user had a login problem. I’ve been with company since beginning and they’ve never had breach, no outage that affected me in 8 years, and are leaders of Online Privacy period.

I can tell you that every product works excellent. I use all for business and personal.

If your looking to add privacy and security to your device, network, home, biz, organization of any size with ease and no need to be a “Techyy” Choose Proton.

Every product is available free. It’s the quickest way to secure up. No Privacy or Security services are this simple at this level are available anywhere.

App well designed, easy to navigate

Safe, great backup system, with alerts in case of data bridges. Just like my email and Proton calendar the Password App is the best for me.

Just Don’t!!

1 hour in I wanted to use a generated password to secure my account, upon doing so it deleted all my passwords id previously added.

Waste of time and they want £60 for that bolocks. Not trusting anything from these jokers. Wouldn’t even lock a sandwich with them.

2FA autofill not working

Not only is not working but it messes up the iOS as well
Deleting the app everything works in the iOS at least
Waiting for an improved app , I’m sure proton will
sooner than later hopefully 🤞

Hello! Autosave (autofill) should work for most websites and apps. If you run into any issues, please feel free to flag any problematic web services or apps to us. You can contact us at https://proton.me/support/contact to report the issue you've experienced. We'll be sure to note your feedback for future improvements.

A good password manager, try it!

Proton has been absolutely killing it in app design (writing this in June 2024), and if you need a password manager, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Up front, there is an excellent competitor with a good free tier available named Bitwarden - if you’re not using Proton Pass, you should probably be using Bitwarden. All other competitors I have tried didn’t have UIs at the same quality level, had major security incidents (like Lastpass getting hacked), or didn’t support all platforms as well as these do (sorry Apple!).

Proton Pass has integration with their email aliasing service, an autofill and generate password that works consistently for me, the ability to act as a Google 2FA authenticator, support for all the platforms / browsers I use, and solid UI design.
