Experience varies by district, because all the items you listed are not controlled by us but instead managed by your local transportation department. Poor user experience
I really disliked the old version of this app (“Vst My Stop”), but at least that app always defaulted to the map view when it was launched.

We understand this frustration and are working towards leaving the map open. In the next few updates, expect large improvements to the bus location page, specifically the map.
Pointless and Broken
But realistically, it’s useless. It doesn’t do the things it’s supposed to, and it isn’t reliable. I get notifications that my child scanned to get on/off the bus when they never even left the house. Getting notified about delays would be great if it wasn’t incredibly wrong 98% of the time. The “real time” tracking is also delayed… so not real time at all. I could delete the app and have nearly the same level of knowledge as I do with it installed. At least I wouldn’t have wrong information.
Parents, you’re better off using the iPhone’s built in tracking, or Life360.

We are sorry to hear this. We don’t control routing and not all districts have My Ride K-12. If you want us to look more into your new location to see if the busing in your area works with My Ride K-12, please leave us feedback in the app.
