Uses AI and is misleading

I was really excited to see this app as a pre-law student majoring in literature, but I found it very misleading. You can’t do ANYTHING on this app unless you pay for it, so the install just sits there. I decided to bite and give the free trial a shot, only to find myself completely appalled- the app uses AI-generated photos (and likely other components) to skirt around copyright laws without being sued. The lesson I did was on Hamlet and included an AI picture of Simba from the Lion King as well as Chewbacca holding what I can assume to be C-3P0’s head as a reference to Hamlet’s soliloquy.

The use of generative AI, especially for something like this (where you could absolutely use photos from the actual franchises under fair use law), is a direct contradiction to everything this app claims to stand for. Generative AI is killing the arts and discouraging young people from learning, and using it to run an app that claims to be all about these things is a huge slap in the face. Hire an artist if you’re truly so concerned. I cancelled my free trial within ten minutes and won’t be returning.

Careful!!! The product is a bit amateurish but not useless, but they do a bait and switch, more than doubling the monthly rate after the first month, renewing a day earlier than you sign up and requiring 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. Very sneaky business practices.

Deceitful app

I agreed to a one month subscription (which they conveniently don’t allow you to subscribe through Apple so you are not easily allowed to cancel your subscription like other apps through your Apple ID. You have to log onto your account through a web browser to cancel) and as I agreed to a much cheaper initial subscription of $18, they charged me $47 dollars for the next subscription. I never agreed to this and they are not transparent about it at all!! Please save yourself the money and do not get this app or subscribe they will steal your money and I promise you won’t even use the app as the information is so incredibly surface level and watered down you will learn nothing

Cancel subscription for £165 discount

READ FIRST: If you like the app make sure you cancel it. They immediately offer you to cut the price from £15/month to £15/year!!!! I got the app initially as a way to take me away from mindless scrolling. I was under the impression there would be lots of videos and interesting content. Instead I found a very shallow pool of content, that is all text based. Not engaging, limited, and expensive compared to just reading wiki. They then make it very confusing to cancel, and you have to jump through hoops to do so. I thought I had cancelled only to be hit with a bill for £46 months later. Although I immediately contacted them to highlight my mistake they refused to cancel and refund. It seems as if there business plan is to advertise well (but not accurately) and then hope you accidentally don’t cancel your extremely overpriced subscription (proven to be overpriced based on the extreme discount they immediately offered when I cancelled.) Bad app. Bad company. Do not be suckered in like I was.

Edit: the charge is being refunded now, so re-rating to 2 star due to helpfulness of customer service team. However can’t rate above that because I still feel it is falsely advertised and overpriced.

Great way to learn

I came across this App by chance. As I love to learn new things, I gave it a go.
It is a fun way to brush up on subjects a person is interested in. I love history but sometimes reading it can be dry, however not with nibble. The presentation is colourful and filled with information in short bursts. It is easy to follow and nibble doesn’t bombard you with millions of emails so it stays fun, not a chore.

They are still billing me after deleting my account. Terrible service. Would delete my review if they got back to me and fixed the issue. If you can still see this, it’s because I’m still waiting.

Bite sized learning!

I love learning new things. Setting myself up for 10 minutes a day to learn something new or refresh my knowledge on certain topics is a nice way to start the day. I dropped one star because although I bought a one year subscription and then canceled to avoid an auto subscription in 2025, I still get nagged about subscribing. So, let’s see if I’m irritated out or will my love for the product win out in the next 12 months.
