Paying for knowledge when I can just use google to get information for free

Do you guys as content creators wonder why no one is using your app? Why you try and my it like the education version of tiktok? Maybe because tiktok has access to everything for free! I couldn’t do ANYTHING on this app without paying and 100+ dollars a year is crazy. I’ll stick to YouTube thanks. The only thing I like is that I can use the topics to search up and learn about on Google or YouTube.

Everything is behind a paywall. Don’t bother.

I like to give apps the benefit of the doubt before downloading. I saw an ad for this on Instagram and thought it’d be a fun pastime. Downloaded it, did the quiz, and… I cannot access anything unless I get a subscription. It’s ridiculous. Every two seconds an ad pulls up telling me to pay. Knowledge costs money nowadays. I’ll just stick to reading the actual novels.

Not recommended unless you’re rich and bored.

Misleading subscription status

This app bothered me in a few ways. Firstly, the ads I saw for this app led me to believe there were zoology lessons included, but as far as I could tell most of the biology lessons were human anatomy. Not too big of a deal, as that's still interesting, but not what was advertised. Then there's the fact that they make you sign up for a subscription even if you're using the 7-day free trial, hoping you'll forget the subscription and give them a little extra cash. This wouldn't be too big of an issue if their claim that they would remind you of the end of your free trial 2 days beforehand, but unfortunately for me I never recieved this notification. I was unimpressed with the app's content but decided to give it a chance for the duration of the free trial, making a decision to cancel it or not when I got the notice that the free trial was about to end. As I never got this notification, I instead recieved a fraud alert on my card for NINETY DOLLARS, which is an absolutely ridiculous amount of money for what the app offers. I requested a refund, but I seriously doubt that will materialize.

Overall, unimpressive content, predatory practices, and false promises. 0/10

Not letting me cancel my subscription

I didn’t end up using the app as much as I wanted to. When I tried to end my subscription it didn’t let me. I purchased it through an ad on Instagram. Therefore I can’t unsubscribe through the App Store. When I try to use the link, it doesn’t even recognize my email. What is headway? Why is it such a difficult task to end my subscription? The app is good. No complaints there. I just can’t stand when companies create these hurdles to cancel. I’d like a refund and my subscription ended immediately. Please advise.

Pay wall!

This app seems so intriguing but the whole thing is blocked behind a paywall. There isn’t even a light/limited free version where you can do a lesson a day. Quite disappointing

I signed up on the website to try it in hopes it would help my scrolling. I didn’t realize the 2 pop ups after the subscription were charged services (only one of the windows said it was an additional charge and I only noticed this after they sent screenshots in an email). I requested a refund for the 2 additional services and to keep my $20 subscription because I really wanted to try it and thought this was a cute company with a really good goal. They denied my refund due to their “Terms and Conditions” stating purchases on their website were nonrefundable. We all know companies who genuinely care about their customers would issue a refund for an accident, but clearly they’re just trying to trap people into spending more money. Very disappointed and I hope the company goes in a different direction in the future. Maybe I would give it a try, but until then, be very careful about their pop ups and in-app purchases - you might be being charged for more than you think!

Trust broken from the start

I signed up for something that I thought would be nice to learn things on my free time, but in the sign of process, they scammed me into buying an infographics subscription using a dark UX pattern. so from the get-go, I don’t trust this company.

Easy to do a lesson in a couple minutes. Wish I could go down the rabbit hole on some subjects and have links or possibility to read more, but the quick summary is enough to have a general idea of a subject.
