Subpar

The website as well as the app are subpar. I almost rage quit and cancelled as soon as I signed up from how horrid of an experience it is. The app is a little bit better at navigation but I click a button and my whole screen goes black and I have to manually restart the app. There is not way for me to tell how much more order total is. They really need to invest more money into the user experience. I’m not the type of person that complains. Really positive person. But this experience is one of the worst I’ve had so I had to post here.

Some app users are experiencing a similar bug with their screen while viewing their cart like you've mentioned. So very sorry about this — we get that's frustrating! For now, we recommend logging in via the website on a mobile device or a desktop to access your subscription in the meantime. App no longer working

I’m not able to update my meal selection with the app. Stopped working a couple of weeks ago.

So sorry to hear this! In order to edit meals for any weeks within the app, be sure to click the 'Edit box' button for any week you'd like to update. Once there, click 'Change Meals' to edit your cart. Once you're finished, don't forget to click on the cart icon in the righthand corner and scroll down to press 'Save Changes' to lock in your final selections. Your cart should update right after doing so. If you're still having trouble, please send an email to hello@purplecarrot.com so we can further assist. We're happy to help!

I like the food but…

There is no customer service. This is not like HelloFresh, if your order is wrong or missing something it’s just too bad and you’re out the money. Also you have no control over what day this ships. There is an email address provided to contact and no one will ever reply. Get it together purple carrot. I like the food and the recipes are super easy but I’m getting very frustrated with the lack of communication avenues.

Love Purple Carrot!

App is easy to use! I love how convenient it is to view my meals and recipes on the go. Def recommend to stay up to date.

Inconsistent-excellent meal options

We’ve been using Purple Carrot for a few weeks now. We were with Hello fresh but there weren’t enough vegan gluten-free options. I love the variety and the quality of the ingredients and recipes with Purple Carrot. However, there is no human to ever help you with anything. You can only text or email but They do everything they can to use an automated AI type assistant. Nearly impossible to get a true human. hello fresh was great about customer service. And it was very easy to report missing ingredients or recipes. also delivery has been sketchy. We told them that they should never leave packages outside of the driveway gate that they should always be left at the front door and twice now we’ve had this issue where they left it out by the side of the road. One time the box was falling apart. I’m giving them three stars for these reasons. Although I do think they have five star recipes and ingredients. I hope that delivery mishaps and issues logging into their website do not continue to happen.

Love the flavor

I have ordered many boxes. Out of all of them this one is the best by far. I love the flavor. I would think of the things they put together. I am learning to love certain vegetables and they show me unique ways to add amazing flair.
I absolutely recommend!

Rotten vegetables!

The recipes are great. The delivered ingredients are terrible. My first box had black slimy thai basil and a soft slimy rotten cucumber. The ice packs used were nearly completely melted. I believe the problem is the boxes are packaged and held in hot areas for over 24 hours before they are even taken to the delivery company ( on-trac). My box that is supposed to be delivered today has been in a hot van ( currently 86 degrees outside) for 10 hours and still has not been delivered ( according to tracking). I am certain my second ( and last) box will be the same…. Rotten inedible ingredients!

Wayfinding

Please add a “logout” button. Right now the x mark logs you out when you expect it to navigate back to the last page visited. For example, when I am looking at a recipe and I click the x mark it logs me out instead of taking me back to the meal selection page. This will make the app so much user friendly.

My kids are trying vegetables!

This program has been a fantastic way to introduce vegetables and new spices to our familiar repertoire of family meals. I offer the Purple Carrot recipes as an appetizer and all 7 of my kids are open to trying them. (3 kids are hooked! )

It began during the pandemic when my California sister stayed with us and had her Purple Carrot boxes sent here. I’ve been ordering ever since.

As a primary care physician, I offer free boxes to my patients.

Thank you for making your meals extremely palatable and affordable. We rarely go out to eat & with your options, we sample a different country each week.
