  • It Scratches That Itch

You know the feeling: One more round. One more try to outrun the boss. One more attempt to get that item upgrade. Vampire Survivors delivers on every front. It is the perfect arcade game.

Its controls are simple, but it hits that sweet spot of challenging gameplay (but not impossible) and the promise of more to explore and uncover. The number of hidden items, easter eggs, and unlockable enhancements makes this tiny game worth it.

Don’t let its jagged pixel graphics and 8-bit era music and sound put you off — this game is highly addictive and has immense replay value. While it’s no Elden Ring, it is still as satisfying as only the best games can be. Vampire Survivors is a must for anyone looking for a classic and intense video game experience.

  • Very fun except when it loses progress

This is a great game. I love the depth and the feeling of unlocking new characters and levels. There are optional ads which is fine - definitely not intrusive on the gameplay.

The only thing preventing a fifth star is how often the app restarts, especially when it makes me lose a run. I have an iPhone 14 pro so I should have plenty of memory. I just was 20 minutes into a run, switched to my camera for 30 seconds to take a picture of my cat, and when I switched back to the game it was back to the start screen and all my progress was lost. This has happened to me so many times, I’m literally scared to switch to another app mid-run. I’m so frustrated, I’m probably going to stop playing because I keep meeting the requirement for an unlock, losing my run, and having to do the same run again. That’s not fun.

  • Great game but there are 2 bugs that I notice.

Love this game. Played it since before arcanas way back when. But there are 2 bugs that would make the game so much more enjoyable if fixed. The first is that sometimes picking up an attractorb or using the pentagram upgrade the red gem and sometimes other gems will actually go careening off the screen next to you rather than continue towards you. While I’m sure you can get the rest of the levels you missed from that gem from a new red gem later, it is a little frustrating to see if you don’t have the speed or catch radius to grab it. The second is sometimes changing applications and coming back will reset the app regardless of the fact I didn’t close vampire survivors entirely. This means you have to restart a run entirely. The obvious solution is not to close the app at all, but sometimes I get texts or things to do and I’d like to pause and come back in a minute. If these are fixed then this app for sure gets the full 5 stars

  • Heavily Slept on Game

I recently got this game on Game Pass on my Xbox and was turned away from the graphics and gameplay. Whenever I heard that Vampire Survivors was releasing on mobile via The Game Awards, I decided to give this game a second chance. And oh my, I’m glad I did. The gameplay is rich and deep, complex yet simple and overall so addicting. I find myself binge playing this game for hours on end, grinding to fill the collection tab and finding all the secrets I can.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting this game and just spending an hour learning how to play.

  • Awesome Game!!

I never write reviews on mobile games, but I had to take a second to give this game the review it deserves. After completing the game (all secrets, 131 collectibles, killing all beasts, etc), I can honestly say this is one of the best games I have ever played on a mobile device. The games starts off rather slow, but as soon as you start unlocking other characters, it can get crazy fast! Hoping the DLC comes to mobile devices soon! Great game, deserves 5 stars all day!!

  • Great game just possibly one bug

Spoilers needed to describe the bug:

When unlocking Infernas, I’m able to unlock 8/9 coffins. Moving into the final coffin causes the enemies on screen to die, and projectiles freeze in place, but nothing else happens. When you move away or stay still, enemies begin to spawn in again and projectiles move again. But moving into the coffin causes the same issue (enemies die as if they were killed by pentagram) and projectiles freeze in place. The game is essentially soft locked with the only escape being to die/reset the run.

  • Runs smooth now and can handle late stages!

It’s a great port and NO ADS!! However my only real complaint with the game is sometimes you pause and switch to a different app for over a few minutes, when you return to the game, it just opens from the main menu and you lose all your progress from the game you were just playing.
It’s incredibly frustrating especially because these games can last for a while.
    Other than that, it’s great!

  • Perfect for Phones, New Favorite App

Look, I play mobile games sparingly but Vampire Survivors is the best one I have ever played. It's everything mobile gaming could be if it chose to do in a way that respects players. I'm a freelance game reviewer; I've covered probably close to 400 games/hardware in my career. I've written praise about mobile games less than 5 times that I can recall. This is a fantastic experience and I recommend pairing it with music or podcasts, perfect for anyone that struggles to just sit and enjoy audio on its own.

  • Sweet controls, perfect port, unbelievable game.

Hard to understand what’s going on with this - you have a pixel perfect port of one of the most addictive games ever released, it runs like an absolute dream on iPhone, and the only way you can try to give the devs money is by watching an advert for an additional revival at the end of a run. The controls are perfect, it’s as easy to control using touchscreen as when using a pad…I’ve seen the credits roll using both and this is my favourite version. Beautiful.
