Description of Challenge Hound

Challenge Hound is a challenge platform and is an awesome way to create and track challenges. Challenge Hound is used by companies for corporate wellness challenges, by non-profits for charity challenges and by friends and families who want to challenge each other to meet fitness goals. Challenge Hound makes exercise contagious by engaging participants in group challenges. - Create individual-vs-individual or team-vs-team challenges. - Track distance, duration, elevation and number of activities per challenge. - Create challenges using a set goal (example: 100km in one month) or one that is open-ended (example: as much as possible in one month). - Each challenge includes dynamically updated personalized progress metrics, charts and leaderboards. - View each participant's challenge status, activities and progress on charts or optional maps. - Maps can be added to challenges to virtually visualize progress. - Each challenge includes a message feed for sharing motivational comments, photos and celebrations. - A point system allows a participant to pro-rate activity types within a challenge. - Log activities manually in Challenge Hound or connect an app to sync activities to challenges automatically. Challenge Hound works with Apple Health, Garmin, Fitbit, MapMyRun, MapMyWalk, MapMyRide, MapMyHike, Coros and Strava. - Supported activity types include: Running, Jogging, Biking, Cycling, Hiking, Walking, Elliptical, Wheelchair, Tennis, E-bike, Pilates, Rowing, Kayaking, Inline Skating, Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Nordic Ski, Skating, Handcycle, Canoeing, Golf, Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, Workouts, Online Classes, Weight Training, Swimming, Stand-Up Paddle, Skateboard, Snowshoe, Rock Climbing and Football - Create custom activity types for point-based challenges for things like 'Hydration', 'Good Deed', 'Reading', or anything else you can think of. - Challenge Hound challenges are based on logged activities (runs, swims, hikes, rides, etc.) and NOT daily movement or daily step counts. Each participant will manually log activities and/or sync activities tracked with apps. Challenge Hound was founded in 2013 to promote healthier lifestyles by providing the best platform for creating and managing challenges. Thousands of challenges, with millions of activities, have been run through Challenge Hound. Challenge Hound has been used by many well-known Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and non-profits.

  • Recent glitches

The app has been super easy to use over the past several months. However, in the last couple weeks, I haven’t been able to share images in the feed - “post” button disappears when I attach an image. But it’s otherwise been great, and a fun way to stay active with my remote coworkers.
  • Spartan Race

Myself and a group of friends used the Challenge Hound app to train for a Spartan race, the app was a great motivator and keep everyone accountable. The app was very easy to use as it synced right up to my Garmin, strongly recommend.
  • Great fitness app!
