So much potential
Unfortunately, there are too many systems to upgrade and combat is super unforgiving if you don’t have a meta team. Needing multiple copies of the right characters is a way to make a lot of new players say goodbye to this game when they, like me, realize it’s better to leave this game before you get sucked into forcing yourself to buy multiple copies of characters to be competitive in a very challenging PvE side of the game as it scales.
I hit chapter 7 and immediately felt like I died in every single fight. Running out of slimes to level further from, lacking any weapons or gear whatsoever to upgrade my team, and ultimately feeling stuck because I probably didn’t have the right team to push further. Feels really bad. Game should be far easier to play casually without it subtlety telling you that you need to spend $ to go further.
Was fun for a few weeks. Will go play other games that aren’t as much of a headache for casual players.

Great game… crashes a LOT
The problem is that it CRASHES. A LOT. I can’t even play for 15 minutes without it crashing. I can’t complete my arena battles for the day without it crashing at least 2-3 times in between. I’m giving it this review in hopes that it can get fixed because right now it’s borderline unplayable experience
Still the game itself and eye candy is fantastic so I feel bad giving it any less of a score, but please optimize and fix and I will change my score to a 5 star easily

Excellent prequel to an already excellent series
- engaging gameplay
- intuitive UI
- actually entertaining writing
- quality artwork
Put gameplay first as I cannot overstate how enjoyable the combat system is compared to other mobile tbrpgs especially gacha games. The only cons i can think are some pay to win aspects and grinding but that’s unavoidable and hardly an issue because they threw so many resources at you.
BROWN DUST brings everything I liked about B9 but with an even more engaging gameplay and battle system at the cost of being potentially less afk friendly(as far as I've seen, only about 4 hours in). If you liked the brave 9 gameplay and want more engaging turn-based action check this out.
