Definitely cheaper than Uber, drivers have generally been very nice
App sometimes gets hung up while trying to find a driver without resolving itself
My really big problem, is that the wait time is at least double and sometimes 4 times as long as what is quoted. The price is generally 40 to 70% more than the estimate. BUT NOTE. still cheaper than Uber!
My sister-in-law was visiting and needed to leave our house in Fremont for the airport at 4:15 this morning (ouch!) so she wanted to pre-book her ride. Lyft told her it would cost $100. Uber said it would be about $80. I was preparing to get up early and take her, but then the Seattle Yellow Cab app gave an estimate of $60-$62. So of course she chose that, and then we were all annoyed because when she clicked “confirm” it said it had put a hold on her card of $80, so it seemed like bait-and-switch. But then the actual metered price came out to only $53! She said the driver was kind and courteous and showed up 10 minutes early, and all went well, and she would definitely use them again. 💛
No comparison. Easily better value than any tech ride share service
As a first time user for the yellow cab app, I found it a bit frustrating as it changed my Pick Up address on its own, which caused some delay. Luckily, I was able to talk to the driver and he could come pick me up where I was located.
I am leaving Seattle after a two-week stay. I used the app going to and from the airport, and it was so easy to use. It let me track where the cab was as it came to me, and made paying cashless easy. The drivers were courteous and helpful.
It's nice to have another option to Uber and Lyft that's wayyy more affordable. But the reliability of service is lacking. My car has been 5 minutes away for 25 minutes. It's not rush hour, the traffic by where I live isn't wildly out of control. The estimated times are consistently off. Several times I've gotten in the car and asked if I knew how to get to our destination. Not like, do you have a preferred route. More of can you tell me or do I have to use a gps.
Works ok until cabbies use it as a way to scam you with no recourse from the app
The app worked in the beginning, but after a few trial and error requests, I am unable to get my payment to be approved, so I have to go back to manually calling and requesting a ride, which gets clunky after awhile, because dispatchers want exact street number address, instead of landmarks or building names.
The app has really improved from a couple of years ago. The service has always been good in my experience. I use it for wheelchair cabs to commute to and from medical appointments in the north Seattle area.
Horrible service. They lie and you can’t count on them.
