Just tried taking a note, and recorded a call. I was pretty stunned by the functionality of the transcription! Barely read the instructions and managed fine. Love the mag case, which I’m relieved works on my Quad Lock case!! So big bonus for me there (I’d love you to work with them on a case that plaud goes in between the mount hole and the phone!
Looked at subscription costs - the only improvement I’d like is to roll over any unused minutes for transcriptions on pro please. It’s not clear on the pricing sheet if this is the case, and I’d never buy additional transcriptions I’m not down for that after the cost of hardware and a pro subscription. It should cover all.

Nothing is perfect...
With a plaud, I've had no big problems with the app. The interface is nice looking and easy to navigate, and I've encountered no crashing or bugs with the interface when it connects to my plaud. However, I do have one problem about using this app, sometimes I don't use plaud for a long time and the app doesn't let me use my own recorded audio, which sometimes prevents me from using up my transcription hours!

I was one of the kickstarter fundraisers for this company and how gone get thanked excuse after excuse - basically we haven’t had anythingnsincencrowdsujddjjgb and if they doitnnhsvdnhardwasere sales why wouldn’t keep the software running?

Great hardware but terrible app
The device is well made and the sound quality is great, but the app is terrible and leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I find myself using the device less than I’d like because of the app. The AI capabilities are lacking when compared to other AI apps like FathomAI or ChatGPT (great summaries if you paste in the recording transcript). Also, I’ve had a few AI summaries come back in Japanese even though I recorded in English, and only ever in English. 4/5 on the device, 1/5 on the App.

He quickly migrated my files to my phone and it allowed me to see the meeting without the boredom of listening to the recording over and over again!

Really bad transcriptions in Spanish
I know, and I understand the principal language for transcriptions is English, but because Plaud relies on openAI tech, l thought this process would be more accurate, There are a lot of nonsense words, in the transcription process. I lost my confidence in Plaud looking for another company, and services.

Great hardware, app leaves a lot to be desired
The device has a great look/feel/build quality, and the audio sounds clear and crisp. That said, the app leaves a lot to be desired — most importantly, the AI summaries. When compared to the generative AI capabilities of analogous tools like FathomAI or OpenAI’s GPT-4 (by copy/pasting Plaud’s transcription to summarize) — Plaud’s AI capabilities fall far short of expectations.
Fortunately, that’s fixable, and while probably more expensive to provide newer, better, faster LLM models — I’d be willing to pay more to get AI summaries on par with the apps previously mentioned.
I’m cautiously optimistic that the app will improve over time, and while I’m happy with the purchase and can use a copy/paste to ChatGPT approach for now, I wouldn’t yet recommend purchasing to a non early adopter type… yet.
