  • v2.0.1 - Can’t get past “Edit Profile” screen

After a clean install, I am asked to accept the privacy policy, then I am taken to the “Edit Profile” screen.

I fill out the profile info, tap “Save”, and immediately receive an error:

    “Internet issues
    Upload failed, please try again.”

I am unable to bypass this screen, so can’t use the app at all.

  • Doesn’t respect privacy

Why is there no option to create an account? You’re asking users to login via our existing Apple, Facebook or Google accounts. What if I don’t want to give your app access to my personal accounts? This app is currently not allowing users to create account and password separately if we choose to.
  • Shows speed in metric regardless of chosen units

I don’t know how you screw up such a simple app. Regardless of if you choose “imperial” (aka MPH) units, the stat shown is still in kilometers (the suffix at the end just changes to say mph instead of kph but the actual number is still in kilometers) this is the case for both the speed of the treadmill and the distance you’ve gone.

Please stop adding other features and fix these basics. It’s embarrassing and I can’t believe I spent over $1000 on a treadmill for this kind of bottom tier software.

All I need is the numbers to be correct and import into Apple Health circles. I don’t want anything else. But this simple stuff still isn’t right.

  • Shockingly bad

This app is all around terrible - shockingly so. And, no, it doesn’t sync to Apple Health or Fitness.
  • Competitors Catching Up

Lifespan asks a premium for their product. They better start providing the premium experience. This is an app I would expect from an underfunded metro or government app.
  • Broken App Syncs Calories to Steps

App doesn’t work right. You have to manually sync your health data, and when it does it syncs your calories from this app to the steps of the Apple Health app. I just walked 1076 steps burning 55 calories and it synced 55 steps to Apple Health. Please fix!
  • Pretty useless

I was hoping I’d be able to actually control the treadmill from my app so as to not need the desk console attachment, but no such luck. I don’t personally care about tracking steps or miles but if you’re into that the app will be slightly more useful for you, but it’s still pretty mediocre.

Would really love the option to start and stop and adjust the speed via the app! It would greatly improve my ability to use the treadmill as the console is huge not very attractive so I don’t really want to attach it to my main desk.

  • Says it can sync to apple health but…

    1) I have to re-detect my treadmill every time I use the app
    .
    2) I have to manually sync my data to apple health (that doesn’t work— but more on that in a minute) every time I want to add a treadmills activity
    .
    3) the UI is very nonintuitive, as the “sync to apple health” button is a tiny heart in the top right corner …that was not in my top ten places to look
    .
    4) when I do manually sync my data… get this. My 6,500 steps were sent to apple health as 237 steps. I think they’re sending the calories instead of steps.
    .
    5) the app will allow you to accidentally sync the same event multiple times, so instead of my 6,500 steps, the app now shows 13,000. No, you cannot fix it (as far as I can tell, but who knows with this UI). Even if the treadmill doesn’t send a unique event ID, the app should at least be able to check for identical fields and ignore the request
    .
    6) the app gives units in km and km/hour with A) that seeming incorrect and B) no way to change it. How does this impact my calories? What is the real calorie count?

  • So bad I want to sell my treadmill

It’s hard to believe that Lifespan could have created an app that’s *worse* than their previous app, but somehow they managed it. Absolutely useless junk. Lifespan manufactures decent equipment, but their software (both the app and their “smart” treadmill display) is abominable. If I’d known this in advance, I would have purchased a different treadmill brand, and I recommend you do as well.

  • Ugh, this is what we waited all year for?

It's 2023, how is it still possible that Lifespan can't get an app built that connects to their treadmill and syncs around 5 metrics.

They promised this new app would be better than their last iteration, but it's not. Still can barely connect, and when it does the metrics aren't even close to those displayed on the treadmill.
