  • We have been waiting for The Way

I have tried nearly all available meditation apps, and actually use several. Waking Up gets high marks. As a guided teacher, Henry's approach is clean and welcoming. The app is equally well designed and simple for first-timers, but equally valuable to seasoned meditations. Like any practice, finding the right teacher makes a world of difference. Henry is that 'right teacher' for many including myself.
  • A Journey To One’s Self

I’ve been following Henry’s teachings for over 3 years and have been profoundly moved by his compassion and clarity and accessibility. All of this is crystallized in The Way. Henry’s daily guided meditation holds a safe space to explore who we really are. The highest recommendation for new meditators and seasoned ones. I’ve use many meditation apps and The Way is the most direct path to deepen our journey inward.
  • Best meditation app

This is by far the best meditation app I have ever used. Equally valuable to advanced and beginning meditation practitioners. Henry is a master teacher who embodies the teaching. He is also very down to earth and unpretentious. I love that the app is so easily accessible - complete free access for 30 days with no credit card information and then low fee or pay what you can. The app is easy to share and I shared it with my doctor. He loves the app and is now recommending it to the medical students he teaches. Give this app a try - it will change your life.
  • The One and Only Meditation App You Need!

I tried a lot of varying forms of meditation from in person TM, to Headspace, to the multitude of teachers and options on Waking Up. While I have had significant moments in each and every one of them still the most significant was an awakening I experienced after practicing Henry’s Koan series on Waking Up. When I saw he had his own app I was hesitant at first because I was not enthusiastic about “another” meditation being offered on the market but I gave it a go and it has been the greatest experience with mindfulness and meditation for me to date. I highly recommend anyone from beginner to a frequent meditator to try this app and in the order it is presented, it is truly impactful. While I have fundamental disagreements over approaches presented by other teachers particularly Sam Harris’ teachings and the way his app is presented, I have nothing but deep respect and love for Henry and what he has given here.
  • Excellent for all.

I’ve been meditating for over 20 years. I started in Zen, I have practiced traditional Theravada mindfulness, and through Sam Harris’s app heard many non-dual teachings. Henry is one of the few teachers who has embraced the wonderful opportunity to integrate the branches of Buddhism into his own teachings. This is a very good app for beginners and experienced practitioners. And you get the added bonus of Henry’s wonderful voice and gentle presence!
  • Brilliant

Wasn’t looking for a meditation app, however really love how Henry teaches and so thought to check this out. After more than a month of daily sits guided by the app and Henry ‘s gentle teachings and pointers, I can truly highly recommend this meditation tool. I have learned so much already, and am sitting with much more ease, relaxed focus, and ultimately more spaciousness and a smile!
  • Single path is great

I’ve used several different meditation apps; each has its own place, but I found the at I wanted a deeper, directed experience rather that picking various meditation tracks each session.
I’ve appreciated Henry’s attitude, pace, and style; so this app has been a great tool for me.
    Highly recommended.
  • The first meditation app that feels joyful instead of something I should do

I’ve used The Way for months now and have enjoyed sticking with it more than any other meditation app I’ve tried. There are a few contributing factors for me - 1. That Henry is such a great teacher and very accessibly builds on what he teaches. 2. That there is just one path for you to follow. That combination of some structure along with plenty of flow have worked really well. Highly recommend.
  • 5 stars

Breath of fresh air, enlivened my practice. Great for beginners and experienced meditators alike. The mindfulness sections have given me new noting practices. Don’t be afraid to hit that self timer and remember the pointers and use them yourself, you may find your self dropped into a deep state of absorption effortlessly.

Edit: just finished the flow trail.

Sadhu sadhu sadhu, much appreciation, gratitude, and respect.
  • I adore this app.

Any chance to listen to Henry’s soothing voice and listen to his teaching is something I recommend.

Although I tried various forms of meditation, Sam Harris’ introductory meditation course on Waking Up finally broke through to me.

Henry’s series on Zen koans was on Waking Up, as well. I fell into his voice like a loving embrace—one of kindness and wisdom—the best combination.
I even went to one of his retreats because of the koan, One Bright Pearl. I am now on the first section of The Way and look forward to learning more about koans when I get to that section.

Thanks for making this app and to the people who thought of it. There is nothing like hearing Henry’s voice and seeing his face; it’s as though he’s looking into your eyes and talking directly to you. He is the real thing, an example of, The Way.

This is a gift. Be kind to yourself. Slow down, use this app, and learn. You won’t be sorry.

I think there are scholarships for those who can’t afford it. :) 🙏🏻
