  • Love This App! ❤️❤️🙏🏽🤗

I have been meditating for many years and have done different kinds of meditation. This is my first time using a meditation app so I can’t compare The Way to others but what I can say is that I REALLY love this app. I love the way it’s structured and laid out, the whole journey/retreat format, Henry’s gentle, non-judgmental and loving guidance and teachings — it’s everything I would expect a meditation app to be as a seasoned meditator, and what I would suggest for someone completely new to the practice. I can’t recommend this app enough.
  • A wonderful app!

I have been meditating for several years using the Waking Up app, which is also excellent, and have been thoroughly enjoying this app. The design and approach are both fantastic. I love the idea of a unitary path rather than an open library. This is a very appealing design. Henry is such a thoughtful, insightful, openhearted and compassionate teacher, who radiates these qualities. I hope he and the team have the chance to read these comments and know how appreciative I am of his wonderful teachings. thank you for doing this wonderful work!
  • I finally meditate!

I’ve tried just about every meditation app out there and always stopped after a week or so. I’ve really enjoyed The Way, not having to pick a mediation is so nice and they build on each other in a way that feels more impactful than just whatever the daily meditation is on other apps. The interface is simple and streamlined, I would definitely recommend this app!
  • Simple, Deep Guide to Meditation and Life

I have been practicing for a couple years via Waking Up, where I found Henry Shukman’s meditations. I’ve found his guidance is very powerful and precise, inviting us to be with all of our experience, emphasizing compassion and acceptance of what arises, as well as recognition of the more ultimate selfless nature of awareness. While I think Waking Up is an incredible resource, The Way really has simplified some of the confusion that has come with navigating an array of similar yet different approaches and lexicons.

There are so many beautiful teachings out there, but I think I’ve found a few that I want to focus on exploring. I’m using The Way for my meditation sessions—with some daily meditations from Sam on Waking Up—and listening to Joseph Goldstein’s amazing Dharma talks on Waking Up. I’m also reading Joseph Goldstein’s Mindfulness.

Selfishly I do have a suggestion 🤪. At the moment we can do 10 or 20 minute meditations. I would like the option to customize the meditation length further. Preferably by adding mostly silence to the end, with the ending guidance (“move fingers, open your eyes…”) still coming at the end of the chosen duration.

Thank you so very much to the Shukmans for creating this.

  • My favorite

I’ve tried several meditation apps and have meditated on my own and with a number of in-person teachers. It’s a very individual thing, but this app is my favorite. I appreciate having a single guide, especially when its Henry Shukman. He is so knowledgeable but more importantly so wise and gentle. I’ve never been as consistent with my practice as I am now with Henry.
  • What a meditation app should be

This is the best meditation app I have used. Henry Shukman guides the user through a predefined series of meditations that build upon each other. No choices to make when you open the app, just proceed along the path. Been using it since January ‘24 and have had several awakening moments both during and outside of meditation. Strongly recommend.
  • Foundational support and kindness

Decades of stop and start meditation practice and finally experiencing a daily practice on The Way.
I began with Henry during Covid through MCZC on zoom. So I trusted the App would be professional and gentle.
I'm not a "buffet" kind of person who needs lots of different flavors of teaching. I tried (for years) Apps offering many teachers and many styles. What I love about Henry is his foundational approach to building a sustainable practice that is emotionally supportive and feels empowering. The Way is so very kind and believable... this coming from a temperamental and hot headed woman!
I fell back in love with my life and all of its "defects." I am eager to join Henry (or not and just use the timer to practice the lesson du jour) every morning. So grateful to his whole team.
  • The app I’ve been looking for

This app is exactly what I have been looking for since I started my practice a few years ago! I can’t say enough about Henry’s gentle, encouraging, compassionate, oft-humorous and always insightful support. For years I have struggled without a teacher or a guide of some sort, but not having a lifestyle conducive to focused study in community, I’ve had to take pieces of teachings and experiences and try to weave them together on my own, with many holes and a lot of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Henry’s guidance and his deeply caring approach are like medicine, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to learn in this manner. The healing and gratitude are genuine.
  • App is elegant and Henry is the best!

I used to meditate at Mountain Cloud Zen Center, in Santa Fe, where Henry teaches, and that experience was deeply helpful and profound for me. Now that I live far away, I’m so grateful that this app exists. It’s so simple and user-friendly, and makes building (or re-building) a meditation practice feel accessible. I have always appreciated Henry’s gentle approach to meditation, and his total lack of a guru complex. He’s truly the real deal and I’m so thrilled to have access to his teachings in this format, which fits really well into my current lifestyle as the (often overwhelmed) mom of a toddler. Thank you!
  • In good hands with Henry

Letting go and opening up through meditation can present challenges in my experience. That’s why I’m so incredibly thankful to have Henry’s voice and wisdom guide me through it. I love that there’s a single, explicit path for me on The Way (along with regular prompts to keep going)—very unusual for meditation apps. “The great way is not difficult if you just don’t pick and choose,” after all.
