I am unable to use the app unless I share my location
Forcing sharing of location of information clearly outlines the true intent of apps like these, they don’t really care about helping you as if they did you could use the app by searching using zip codes.
No, they want to harvest users info like McDonald’s or other apps that require you to share your location in order to use the service.
Think about the exchange of value: the app uses your location to find a store to place an order once, maybe a few times while the app devs hope your location is shared 24/7 to sell to data brokers. Does that seem like a fair trade?
This happens increasingly more now a days and people are either too ignorant or don’t care that they’re getting fleeced for a free burger or under the guise of security or additional features that can only be used if you share your location 24/7.
Sickening that business can do what they want while the gov refuses to protect or support consumers in any way in America. The best support we have is hoping daddy apple upholds their promises of privacy but they’re just as culpable as the app ecosystem they enable.
