  • Enjoy this product!

I’m on my 2nd Birdfy product. I’ve had the blue top feeder with solar panel for over a year, and just purchased the camera with solar panel to focus on my birdbath. Overall, I’m pleased with their products and customer support has been responsive. The close up shots of birds being, well…, birds is so entertaining. I often will have it playing on my phone while I’m doing computer work. I have noticed a difference in distance focus between my two products, could be due to improved optics on my newer camera. But as I said before, the close ups are fantastic! Thanks, Birdfy, for great products! Look forward to trying the birdhouse next!!
  • Great App

This app is a great companion to the Birdfy feeders. I have 2 feeders and the app keeps everything and all my pictures / videos in one place. Every once in a while the AI gets a bird wrong, but it’s easy to see why, as they are usually really close. The only thing that may help there would be to take geography into account. I had the AI identify a bird that only lives in Australia, and I’m in the Southern US. They looked close in appearance, but a quick territory check would have ruled out the one. The app is great for customizing your alerts, and controlling the feeders directly. There is something very therapeutic about getting an alert and a picture of a new bird randomly in the middle of the day. As a side note, they also make great security cameras.
  • (Mostly) Works Great

I’ve been using this app for about three months and there have been plenty moments of joy - and a few of frustration. Overall, the joy has been most prominent and I’ve recommended the feeder and the app to friends. Welcoming new visitors to the feeder and getting to watch them so closely is great entertainment.

The frustration strikes when the app fails to upload/save a visit, even those highlighted with a notification. This happens roughly 20% of the time, or about one out of five notifications.

Our feeder was offline about two days while I waited for a call back from tech support. We effectively had to remove the connected feeder, turn off dark mode on my phone and reconnect the feeder. Even so, if I turn dark mode back on, I lose connection.

About half the time I cannot connect to the feeder’s live mode. I’ve not yet discovered why this is happening because I haven’t detected a pattern. I continue to receive notifications and can view uploaded/saved moments when live mode will not connect.

Finally, I was pleasantly surprised with the motion detection, but auto-recording seems a little slow. (The birds often come and go before the recording starts. So I’m seeing quite a few blurry take-off photos.) Motion detection only picks up us or the dog when we are very close to the feeder, and small insects haven’t triggered it. I do have a couple of moments featuring wasps, but it hasn’t been nearly the issue I thought it would be.
  • Improved app

The updated app is a big improvement. Two iterations ago I found it to be confusing and difficult to navigate. The last update cleaned up a lot of this, and with the current version, Netvue has made it even more intuitive.

The AI feature has been great, and we love seeing the variety of birds that now visit our house.

I like I can have multiple feeders set up on the same app. This version of the app allows me to easily find info from either feeder, as well as adjust alerts for each feeder invidually. I also like that I can adjust the alerts to only get alerts from birds, so I won't get notified every time my dog runs in the background!

Minor comment - I wish I could zoom in on the static images before I download them to my phone...Would be great to be able to do that right in the app to save a bit of time.

I periodically look at the community collections and am always inspired by what others see, but I haven't spent too much time there.
  • We love our Birdfy Cameras

Over the years I have researched multiple ways to have wildlife cameras in our backyard. I settled on Netvue and haven’t regretted it. We have been using our main feeder for almost a year and have had no issues. I do recommend adding the monthly plan for bird identification. I love being able to see what species are hitting our feeders, when, and being able to save pictures and videos to our collections.

We have recently gotten the hummingbird feeder, and it’s finally warm enough that we will be putting it in the yard this week. I’m so excited to get it up and running.

The only request I have to make things better is being able to share a link for live online viewing as well. I love having videos showing in a sidebar while I’m streaming on Twitch, and it would make things easier.

We plan to add another Netvue camera to our collection to film some of the ground wildlife as well. Obviously we recommend the company, products & app.
  • Very intuitive app

The app made it very easy to connect the Birdfy hummingbird feeder to my WiFi. I was able to use the support questions/answers in order to reboot the device because I initially could not power the unit on. All is working great now. Use of the app is free, but I did purchase the basic AI subscription in order to filter unnecessary movement. So far, we’re having a very windy day and the unit is not filtering unwanted movement, but I’m hopeful that feature of the app will pan out. All of your events are visible and you can download them if you want to save it offline. The only downfall is that you cannot manage any subscriptions, is you elected to have some, from the IOS version, but the company is aware of that. So far, I’m very pleased with the ease of use of the app and the feeder.
  • Great educational opportunity for home and community gardens.

I first bought this for my home to share birding with my grandkids. They were so excited to see the different kinds of birds that were right in our garden. The bird ID feature of the app helped the kids learn that there were different names for birds based on their appearances.

I recently bought another camera for our community garden. Although there is a slot for an SD card, we were fortunate enough to be able to access wifi from a member who lives nearby. I am looking forward to discovering what birds we have in our woodlands section of our garden. At some point, we are hoping to post not only pictures on our community website, but also a live link.

This company also has cameras with night vision. I bought one for my raccoon and possum feeder. I can now share the comic nighttime interactions with my grandkids with a morning "from Florida" video.
  • Birdfy Camera Lite

I just received the Birdfy Camera Lite and it is currently set up to capture hummingbirds on my hummingbird feeder. The camera was very easy to set up and install. The user manuals are easy to understand and so is the technical side to the camera. The camera will talk to you and I was very impressed when it asked me to format the SD card. The camera also has a siren/alarm feature (which is loud), night vision, sleep mode and a light. Everything is operated using this Birdfy app.
I do not need the bird recognition feature as we only have the Ruby Throat hummers here or that’s because that’s all I’ve seen in my state. May add later, we’ll see.
I like the Birdfy lite because I can move it around my yard and put it almost anywhere, as long as my wifi reaches. The camera comes with everything you need to install on a post or wooden post. Solar panel has been great! I charged camera up inside with the usb cord provided and the solar panel keeps it charged up.
This Birdfy app is really easy to use and navigate. I can even format the SD card on app!
I see that Netvue also makes other Birdfy camera products and I can’t wait to add the different bird feeders or the nesting box to my backyard.
I think every bird nerd needs a Birdfy camera of some sort because birds just make me smile!
  • Good app nice features

We have two Netvue, birdfeeders, and use the app to manage both as well as view the captured videos and images. The app is an improvement over the original Netvue app with more features related to the birdfeeders. It is easy to use and the ability to share access to the feeder viewing is great. Depending on the services of your feeder, you can filter the alerts and the captured moments.

One feature I would like to see added, is the ability to filter more granularly. It would be good if we could filter out previously identified species or be able to deselect collections from the alert process. This could reduce the number of alerts for heavy traffic areas without requiring turning them off. We often get alerted from the same birds, visiting over and over. If it only alerted on new ones or we could remove the regulars, the experience would be improved.
  • Our Family LOVES our Birdfy!

Our Birdfy feeder is awesome and our family couldn’t be more happy! So much that we purchased a second one with the humming bird feeder. We are all anxiously awaiting our little hummers to return this Spring. This app has taken bird watching to a new level. For example, during dinner we put the phone out on the table for the family to enjoy the sights and sounds of our feathery friends. We never know who we will see or hear. I also frequently use the app on my desk at work. It brings a little peace to the office environment. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with this purchase!
