My dad made this app and it’s on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Liked it but had some trouble 😢

I created one free playlist and exported to Apple Music. Went to Apple Music and enjoyed listening to it. When I went back in a few hours later to share it I couldn't find it anymore. Went back in to the app and there is no way to re-export it or even edit it at all. I'm sad to say I removed it from my phone. I couldn't even get to a settings screen or anything like that to do some more exploring or troubleshooting.

    Developer Response

Hey, thanks for trying Trip Tunes! Sorry to hear you ran into this issue, and thank you for sharing the details. Once Trip Tunes gets back info from Apple Music that indicates the playlist has been created, it then hides the 'save to Apple Music' button to avoid re-creating a playlist. I've added this to my list, and will look into better ways to handle this situation. If you were able to listen to the playlist in Apple Music once, it's probably still there! In Apple Music, you can go to the "Library" tab and then "Playlists". Any playlists you created with Trip Tunes should appear there with "Trip Tunes" as the author. If that isn't working, I'd love if you could reach out at triptunesapp@gmail.com so I can better understand what happened. Thanks again!
  • UPDATE: Great idea, Responsive Dev

Nice idea, had initial issues with in-app purchases but the developer thoughtfully responded: in retrospect, the purchase scheme does make sense. Servers and time cost $! Thanks for the response, best wishes and I’ll now reconsider supporting the project.

    Developer Response

Trip Tunes is a hobby project, and I use in-app purchases to cover the server costs for generating playlists. Unlike many 'free' services, I don't sell user data or show ads. I also wanted to provide some free tapes with download to make it accessible to everyone. As a result, I rely on frequent users to help support the app through purchases. "Pay as you go" felt better to me than a subscription, because I imagine people will only use it when they're planning a trip. I've made efforts to clarify the free tape concept in the App Store listing and the app's landing page. I’m passionate about this project, and my goal is to keep the app accessible for everyone without incurring ongoing expenses. I’d appreciate any suggestions on a pricing structure you’d prefer. Thanks for using Trip Tunes.
