Not really great w/o vip
Ok so I downloaded this app because my other fitness app (JustFit) recommended it but you can’t really do anything on Eato w/o having vip which is annoying since it won’t scan my barcodes properly (it scans barcodes for free) and I can’t scan my food since I need to pay.
Overall not recommended tgere ate better apps out there.Show lesstomboy anime lover

I signed up and canceled. The photo tracker was extremely inaccurate I’m sorry to say. The portions were not correct and I measured them.KarenK❤️

The app is not even allowing me to purchase a subscription to log anything in, and it does not look professional, I felt it was like a kid put it together to gain a couple bucks.Shabah0506

Living in Australia half of the products are unknown do you cannot scan, even basic Jogurt from Aldi is not recognised, most of the quantity is „a portion „which is very inaccurate when you weight your Food. I joined for a year and deeply regret it. Fitness Pal is way better.adftok

I signed up today to try the 7 day free trial but was charged immediately £39. I have also tried to use the scan facility to track my meals but the function doesn’t work. It wants me to enter foods and ingredients manually. I signed up for this app to save time entering meal’s manually. It is not what is advertised, definitely not worth it and not looks like
deceptive advertising. I am in the UK and I would like a refund please xShow lessPactram

Some product manager (or the CEO) had a notion to put a four thousand panel on-boarding in front of the actual thing people want to see from this app and it’s just depressing that we’ve come to this with apps - the idea probably being that you’d spent so much time arsing about with sliders and text fields you might as well go for the trial and pay 20 quid a month for the mysterious functionality you haven’t even seen yet. Most likely an AB test showed the longer the onboarding the higher the conversion. Just because people tap through though, doesn’t mean they love or will have any loyalty to your product. It’s a bad user experience, and the company, the product team, the marketing team, and the developers should feel bad for depositing it on the App Store.Show lessJiminikrk

Love the app. Missing the a ability to-save a food I eat everyday and just copying it over to the next day. Also missing the functionality to bundle a meal I create and be able to save it and use it in the future.
Overall is good but those two improvements might make the application much better. Otherwise, after this subscription is over, I will look for alternative.Show lessNsndj

I wanted to like this app after paying $50 for 12 months which I quickly cancelled the renewal. The first picture was within 50 cals of actual calories…‘excellent’ I thought but every attempt after that one was way off. I tried searching ingredients to put in manually but gave up after trying to add 80 grams of cooked rice. It’s not possible‼️ You have to use ounces or cups…I don’t measure any food ingredients with those units. This is unfortunately NOT an Australian friendly app. I keep going back to Easy Diet Diary, which is free and metric.
UPDATE: The eato team were very responsive to my review and follow up. They gave instructions on how to request a refund and my refund was granted.
Hopefully they make the app more Aussie friendly because this app would be a great tool for weight loss and maintenance.
I upped the stars from one to three on their responsiveness alone. They replied!!! which is not at all common. Thanks eato.Show lessbunn75
