This App has potential for greatness— it has been my “go to” search site for a while now — but it seriously needs to have more conservative websites on it.. until it does it gets 3 stars in my opinion.

I love it already!!! I saved my previous bookmarks html into files download so I can scroll through the list no problem. I am hoping for a traditional import bookmarks feature but it works for me this way just fine. I like it so much I made it my default browser!

Expanding Bookmark support is on our radar, and thanks for this specific feature request! We'll be sure to share with our Product team.The UI is unnecessarily different from other browsers. For example, it constantly rearranges tabs based on which one you last opened, which makes it impossible to keep track of tabs. This alone makes it very frustrating to use. The anonymous view is nice, but fails to load many images/thumbnails, which is something the team should definitely work on.

As for your point about Anonymous View, we've made changes that have improved performance quite a bit. It's normal, though, for some elements to load a little differently. It's something we're always monitoring, and you should feel free to share specific scenarios or websites with us at support@startpage.comit almost could do the job, but totally failed to block enough ads for me. intrusive ads made some websites completely non functional and new tabs kept opening themselves. i tried blocking images which seemed to do something but ads that cover the whole screen and arw invisible until you click something then a new tab opens. this had me with a dozen ads open in tabs and still couldnt get to the page I needed. only thing that works is using safari with an ad blocker extension. id like to use this browser but it doesnt quite work for all web browsing. (neither do most browsers for me)

I’ve never trusted search engines and hate their privacy policies, but not anymore! I feel completely private and protected using Startpage. The app is very clean and user friendly- would recommend to any level of tech savviness.

It could in the future replace my Safari and Firefox browsers. I would like to have the option to change the Startpage mobile App icon, similarly to the DuckDuckGo app. Also, it’s understandable that Startpage is the default homepage. However, Firefox allows users to set a homepage of any website, and then to add a different website for opening tabs. The Startpage mobile app is not too far off and with small improvements it can challenge other browsers, especially for people who care about privacy.

For setting the homepage, try going to Settings > General > New Tab. From there you can set either our homepage, a blank page, or a custom URL 🤙This is great! Been waiting for this app a long time and it’s amazing and much better than the old one from a few years ago. No tracking, can clear cookies and other data, use Anonymous View, and save passwords privately! Startpage you’ve knocked it out of the park😀A very grateful user.
