New app is terrible - why the change
Just downloaded the new app and was not thrilled to realize they hadn’t bothered to port my credentials from the old one, so had to sign up again. Then, just as others describe, the experience is super buggy and poorly designed. Last, in the final insult, tickets purchased are no longer available in the app. WTH?!!!!! Why anyone would “upgrade” an app only to destroy it is beyond me.
I even Googled to see if the chain had gone bankrupt and had ditched everything they good to save money. So far, no.
No reason to have use the app anymore.
And clearly seems they don’t really care since there is no developer or company response in the App Store to the litany of terrible feedback, just like mine.

Gets worse and worse! OMG!
Clunky and user unfriendly mobile version. First, with each update the app logs me OUT unlike other apps. Now the screens are even more useless. I was forced to change my password and I couldn’t see what I was typing because part of the graphics blocked my screen. And as an added insult, there’s a convenience fee! Which is why I’ve stopped using the app and buy my tickets in person. Just awful! Angelika must use the cheapest developers available.

So many bugs - can’t even purchase tickets
Im not sure why it’s so hard for Angelika to create a decent app. I’ve always had various troubles with it but now, since the last update, I can’t even purchase tickets in the app. I pick my seats, skip the extra food, go to payment page, enter my credit card and then before I even hit submit it the screen just goes blank and freezes. This has happened over and over again over last several weeks. It’s so frustrating that this app can’t get its act together for even the simplest things!

Horrible user interface
The old app from 2 years ago was perfect. Why did you change it? What's bad?
- unintuitive
- can't easily navigate to find your tickets bought
- once you find your tickets purchased you need to scroll to the bottom and then it doesn't show what theater at all so it's a bit useless in that you still need to ask a clerk

Cost cut too deeply?
The new app feels like a poorly wrapped version of the web site with zero regards to native mobile application experience. “Well done” 👎
Old app was better
There was nothing wrong with the pre-2024 app, current app has heavy content and is harder to navigate. We don’t need fancy, we just need to nimbly browse movies and times! Redesign was a clear miss.
My goodness, what have you done to this app?
Once upon a time, i could sign into your app, see the upcoming and playing movies near me, buy tickets, show proof of purchased tickets at the theatre, use my gift cards and rewards, and buy concessions.
Now, i can do none of those things.
New look? Click forgot password? Doesn’t work.
Apply gift cards or membership points to tickets? Nope, that $100 gift card is gone, as are the rewards. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
See what’s playing now or upcoming? Best be very good at guessing games for the UI.
Please, for the love of movies, test your app with people before you ship one nonfunctional feature after another, rendering the app unusable and the moviegoing experience unpleasant.

Can’t sign in
I can’t even sign into my account to purchase tickets, scan for discounts, etc. what’s the point of this app?
Buggy and Unhelpful
This app makes ordering tickets ahead of time deeply painful. Between routinely forgetting my login details and requiring new passwords and not registering purchases, it’s no wonder Angelika is failing as a business. Going to a movie costs more than buying the movie outright, so acting like I should be honored to pay processing fees on top of a miserable app experience shows how wildly out of touch this company has become. Plus, my seats at home aren’t held together with tape.

I miss the old one so much
I basically use this version only to see what movies are showing and when. Personally, buying tickets has become really complicated/confusing, and the app design itself looks awful.
