iPhone app Review

The load time for each page is so incredibly slow. App buttons on the bottom of the screen lack realtime interaction between hitting the “button” and something happening.

I think it’s a good idea to have them catalogued online, but the execution of the service provided feels like I just spent $40 and cannot get the benefit of what I thought I was paying for. Maybe ChatGPT can help?

Landscape mode

The app looks better no more scrolling through the whole catalog to find your purchases.
My gripe is the new UI does not have a landscape mode. If you have device with a large screen you are fine but if you have a device with a smaller screen you are constantly zooming in and out or scrolling to get to areas out of view.

Thanks for the feedback. We did limit the iPhone version to portrait view only, as we felt pages were too small to be useful in landscape, 2-up display on those sized screens. The iPad version does support landscape display.

Worst app EVER

You can’t search the books you’ve bought, you can’t even just see them, you have to scroll through everything to find your book, then the app crashes anyway. Do not use this. They don’t even allow you to download the ebook YOU PAID FOR! So you pay to not be able to see it in the app. It’s horrendous and they should not allow them to make money like this

Can’t view my purchased and downloaded books

I can’t even view my downloaded books. I purchased them through hudsonmusic.com and they showed up before but I kept getting an annoying error message, which said, “ network error” so I deleted the app and downloaded it again, now I can’t even see my downloaded books. I only get an error message. They show up on my computer online through their website, but nothing on the app. This is very frustrating. Coming from a legacy company like Hudson who charges a premium price for their Digital products but can’t keep up with the digital world.

Mediocre

The app does not allow you to organize your purchased book in any way. Worse, you cannot search for specific books, and you cannot even see the items you have purchased unless you browse the entire store looking for them and download them. Badly designed app.

Horrible

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars with Hudson either through physical books or ebooks. The app does not play the audio when you click on the link/button, even though the download is clearly there taking up space on my phone. There is absolutely no support from Hudson - I regret spending my hard earned money with this company!!!

Extremely Outdated

I love digital books. Hudson is a name that’s respected and trusted so it’s great to see them fully embracing the digital age. I would love to be able to link/export my books to forScore but I can understand if it’s not possible for copyright reasons.

The downsides are the app is extremely outdated, especially on the large 12.9” iPad. There needs to be a way to search/filter to browse and purchase books. There also needs to be a way to view all of my library and decide which ones to download, currently I have to endlessly scroll to find my book in the store no then download to my iPad which adds it to the download tab. It’s also very strange to have the # in the name of the tabs.

The sharpness of the books isn’t quite as good as I would have expected, it makes me wonder if these are a really good scan and not actually an export from a digital file.

Hoping for some big updates to the app soon, very much needed!

Unusable

Hudson Music! Please fix this app. Also what’s with zero compatibility for non M1 Apple products? I use your books to teach and now I can no longer access them for my students. This is extremely frustrating!

Badly designed

The app is very user-unfriendly. It does not allow you to organize your books in any way. Worse, it does not show you your purchased books in a separate window/shell unless you download them; and to download them you need to find them within the hundreds of books in the store, one by one. So you better download them immediately after buying and hopefully have still space in your tablet/phone. And even more stupid: the app used to have a “purchased” button and they got rid of it. It seems they hate their customers.

Very Bad!

No option to search for books and videos in the books that I have purchased don’t work. Unfortunately it’s the only way to purchase the drum book I wanted so I have to use it, but will never recommend it to anyone. Should have just purchased the physical copy.
