Customer service is terrible.
Let me be clear that I am reviewing the platform and customer service, not the therapists. I took a break from Talkspace for a bit and recently decided to go back. Upon requesting a messaging session with a new therapist, I thought I was good to go. However, I am now stuck on the "book an appointment" page and cannot get past that. It is not a technical glitch with my computer, as I've tried different browsers, playing with pop-ups, I've tried my phone vs. computer, etc...The same thing happens time and time again. I cannot access my messages from my therapist and have been getting email notifications that I have messages waiting. So, I of course reached out to customer service and have received several communications that they are trying to figure out the root of the problem. It has been TEN days now and they have been unable to figure it out. For a healthcare service, I feel this is completely unacceptable to make a patient wait this long to receive services such as this, all because of a tech issue on THEIR end that they do not seem to have the competence to figure out.

Terrible
Predatory and completely disregards clients
And with the prices they charge out of insurance it’s wild. I have insurance but the missed appointment fee is absolutely outrageous. It is $125 zero leeway for first time or special circumstances. If you had an emergency day of doesn’t matter. They don’t update you on schedule changes and don’t remind you of the appointments. Is especially predatory considering the client base is typically depressed, adhd, and bipolar people is ridiculous when all of those have impaired memory as a major symptom.
And a lot of people come to this app because they don’t have insurance and Talkspace turns around and charges more than a typical psychiatrist does! And the cancellation/ missed fees are 3-5x higher than other therapists who can do so much more to help you. I would not recommend this service to anyone let alone people looking for mental health treatment.

Bad
thou has come before themselves man and woman united
In the annals of antiquity, as the 19th century unfurled its vast tapestry upon the world's stage, the lexicon of discourse became adorned with a plethora of grandiloquent epithets and polysyllabic expositions. Scholars and orators alike, with their erudition as their beacon, navigated the labyrinthine corridors of academia, weaving intricate webs of rhetoric to elucidate the most abstruse of concepts. Within the hallowed halls of academia, the pursuit of knowledge was revered as a sacrosanct endeavor, with perspicacity and sagacity guiding the intrepid minds of philosophers and savants. From the fecund plains of literature to the lofty peaks of scientific inquiry, the intellectual landscape was imbued with an effusion of verbosity, where the enigmatic prose of literary luminaries and the arcane jargon of scientific treatises held sway over the collective consciousness of an epoch steeped in intellectual ferment. It was an era where verbosity was venerated, and loquaciousness lauded, as the written word became a conduit for the transcendence of human thought and the dissemination of enlightenment amidst the tempestuous currents of societal upheaval and progress.
Couldn’t open the App after purchase
Biggest scam ever.
Amazing App & Service Esp. For ADHD - But Audio Can Improve
Regarding the quality of the therapists… I have seen two different therapists at TS and they were both very pleasant. The first one was a “no show” to our second session and didn’t have a very clear strategy for the therapy in the first session, so I looked for another matched therapist. My second therapist is so amazing! She helps define the goal of each session and we dig right in! She doesn’t just listen like a good-listening friend, she has strategies for digging deep into the issues that are getting to a breakthrough. I am really lucky to have been matched with her on TS.
Talkspace could improve their audio! My therapist sometimes has a hard time hearing bc of the apps audio issues.

Not impressed
EDIT:: Going to update from 1 to 4 stars, as customer service eventually responded to my request and refunded the sessions that expired. For that I am thankful. However, had they responded sooner, I’d probably still be using their service. Now I’m trying a different service.
