Almost not worth the effort
This app is dreadful, like most things Humax these days. It will work for a few days and then loses connection. The only way to reconnect is to turn off the recorder, and then reboot it- not easy when there is no on/off switch!

Careless awful app written by amateur developers and untested.
Thing is, when I bought my Humax box, it was fine, as was their software. What happened? A couple of firmware updates and bingo, it’s all bucked.Herbert_Sherbert

FVP-5000T working well

All apps : live tv , remote ....etc work on the first run then crash Please update all your apps , iOS giving this message " this app will not work well .......& the developer must update " , this app last update was in 2014

App works although a little 'clunky' getting started.
Apple are threatening to withdraw the App if Humax do not improve it to reduce power consumption. You can get away with an evening's viewing using an iPad as a remote control, but you need to start with a full battery (over 50%).
I use it mainly because the physical remote that came with my player has severe horizontal and to a lesser extent vertical astigmatism, and some less than positive buttons.
The main thing I don't like, is because the recorder goes off-line when in standby (I use a wireless connection), you can not switch the recorder on using the App.Show lessrojabro
