Leave a Review Caller
Gets the name sometimes, but interface has issues
Was able to get a name and address for free for the first number I tried. So it's better than the White Pages app which charges $1.99.
However, has annoying interface issues. For example, when you get the result you can't go back to the search screen without clicking the button that displays a map of the location. Also, after entering a number there is no "search" button visible. You have to touch a blank part of the screen to dismiss the keyboard first. It would also be nice if the results included the phone number along with the name and address in case the user wants to take a screenshot of everything together.Show lessTerrible design interface
Looks like a class project that was designed in the mid-80s and got a C-. Even the developer's own screen captures show how lame the app is. Toll-free number (a toll-free number could be legitimate) and general map tell you nothing about who called — but you are lucky to even get that. The map has never worked for me plus I never got the actual caller revealed, even though I am always current with the latest iOS. Necessary feature/design improvements have been non-existent. You'll get better results by googling the phone numbers. The 3-, 4- and 5-star reviewers must be friends and family. Don't waste your time with this.Show lessCaller ID
It's simple to use. I rarely answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. Unfortunately, it can usually only let you know where the number originated from, which doesn't help since most people with cell phones keep their numbers when they move. Sometimes it can give you a name or a set of initials, especially when it is a landline. It can be enough information that you can cross reference online if you want. Overall, it's worth giving it a chance to ID the caller, especially with all of the scams going on.Show lessThorough Database
This app seems to have a pretty extensive database because it nearly always provides the person or company's name and location. It takes a little bit of guessing to get it to work the first time while avoiding clicking on any unwanted ads, but once you use it a couple of times you should have it down. I'm quite pleased with it.Show lessSo far so good!
I've only been using this app for a week or so but so far the app can identify every number I ask for. The interface is a little outdated in my opinion but as far as caller id identification goes this app delivers! The only thing I wish it would do is identify the call as it comes in not just when you ask for it. That would be great if it had that!Show lessWorks great
I have this application for 20 minutes :-) but I like it so far. Tested a few numbers that I know, it shows the right names of the number owners as well as where the number was registered if it is a cell phone number. Yes, the missing "back" button is annoying. Otherwise, simple and convenient application, definitely a keeper.Show lessDoes exactly what it says it will do
Quick and easy with no crashes so far and have yet to come across a number it couldn't identify. Only annoying thing is that the geolocation lookup is a bit misleading-obviously that only works for landlines which are few and far between these days. Other then that it's the cats pajamas!
Update-I forgot to mention that the design of the app is rather outdated. Although it is very simple to use, the lack of a "back" button is extremely annoying. I hate that I have to do the extra step of pressing geolocate before I can clear out the number I am done with and enter another one for it to look up.
How could such an obvious necessary function have been overlooked? It's not like the rest of the app was so intricate and detailed that the developer was overwhelmed and forgot to add it in there, this app has literally like 2 things it can do. How hard would it have been to add a third function; the back/clear button?!Show lessWorks for me!
I agree with the previous comments about the interface being outdated. However, it's great to have the simplicity of this app to perform its main function. I used this along with many other similar look up apps. It would be nice to have integration with the phonebook instead of the traditional copy-paste method. Bottom line is, it gets the job done. Be advised that it won't work for every single contact out there. Please keep this up and running with near future upgrades!!!Show less
