Improvements to Bill Pay Coming Soon We continue to simplify and improve our Bill Pay. Using the valuable feedback of our members, both our browser-based Bill Pay and our Mobile Banking App Bill Pay will now operate exactly the same. Now, whether you have one bill to pay or 10, the process is the same. And better yet, now as you pay a bill, your available balance reflects that payment, showing you how much money you still have available to spend. If you currently use Bill Pay, be on the lookout for this Bill Pay launch and be sure to use the updated User Guide explaining the exciting improvements. If you don’t currently use Bill Pay, try it. Just call one of our friendly Contact Center Reps, who will be happy to help you get started. Payments Placed in Pending Account to Minimize Mistakes Bill Pay payments are held in a pending status until the merchant clears the payment (whether the payment is a check or paid electronically). You provided feedback, we listened. Now, once you submit a payment, those funds are no longer available and reside in a pending account until the payment clears the payee. Whether the payment is transacted electronically (the process used by most large merchants) or with a “live check”, we place the funds in a pending account. That keeps you from accidentally using the funds twice which can result in returned checks or overdraft fees for you. This advanced feature is not available with many Bill Pay systems and returns our Bill Pay to the way we had it a few years ago.
