  • Why did I waste 5 dollars?

This game is so confusing. I was given no directions on how to play and the just started me off reading. Makes no sense to me. Also it has to be played WITH sound turned on so if u want to play it in a quiet room like the library or at school, you have to put earbuds on. For 5 dollars this game is a no go. I am a teenager and don’t understand how to play so just throwing that out there. I’m pretty sure all you do is read so if ur into that stuff I guess this game would be good for you. I don’t really like to play games that 1. Start me off w/out directions and 2. I have to read with sound on. I know it doesn’t make sense to read with your sound on. But whatever here is an honest review for this game.

  • Groundbreaking and immersive

I've been an Interactive Fiction fan for many years, and although this isn't traditional IF, it is a solid, mutant evolution into another generation of the genre.

Minimalist yet detailed, this is the first IOS game I've found that transcends the screen. Rather than drawing a player "into" the game, this actually feels as if it reaches out and envelops the player in a creepy, nihilistic future-punk environment centered by the device in your hand.

Don't fixate on the little details too much; they tend to be red herrings. It will take some out of the box thinking, and be sure to keep the sound up so you can hear important clues.

There are six chapters, but the last two are particularly short. Disappointingly short, as I absolutely loved this game and hoped to continue the experience longer.

Well worth the .99 that I paid for it, and was impressed enough with their work that I went ahead and purchased Year Walk and Sailor's Dream, as well. I'll be looking for more of their games, and really hope there's a "Device 7" or continuation of this excellent production.

  • Incredible

I have no complaints. I finished this game in a few hours but had to walk away for an hour during game play. The whole time I was away, my thoughts stayed with this game. I have so many questions that I hope will be answered through other POV games in the future. This has been, is currently, and will probably forever be the best style of game play for puzzle lovers.

  • A creepy, thoughtful game...

...that will leave you Wondering what's gonna happen next. This game hit me with a wave of awesomeness when I played it. I finished it in two days and was well worth the price. The story is intriguing, and the atmosphere of it all gives off a freaky vibe, including a few minor jump scares. The gameplay is amazing, as you flip your device around to read the text. Sometimes, audio will cue while you read a portion of text. The whole thing is an awe inspiring experience, and once you realize the ending of the game, you'll be surprised. My only critique is the price it is a little expensive, but the price is worth it. Go buy this now... you won't regret it.

  • Breath taking, chill inspiring, doll giver.

I have never written a review for an app before.

This app is a piece of art.

I won't say anything about the game, aside from the fact that when it finished I was in awe. I had chills. I didn't know what to make of it and didn't want to.

When I purchase a game, I am weary as to if it will fit my demographic. Thus, to categorize this game into a demographic, I would base it off of three things:

Sudoku: if you enjoy mind boggling puzzles with numbers, letters and more, this is good.

Reading: if you enjoy beautiful prose (and architecture of that prose), this is good.

Mystery (but not like a whodunnit): this felt like what a mystery should be; something that makes the reader have to alter their perspective to solve or understand. If you like that, this is good.

Thank you for this app, I am eager to receive my doll in the mail!

  • Wow

This game is pretty spectacular. I've played some high end games and this one is up there with them. I consider it an equal to A Dark Room and the Lifeline series. This app is definitely worth it's price. I would have expected it to cost more, really. Just a few weeks ago, I played a story app that was the same price and it was no where near as good as this one. There's a reason it's in the AppStore essentials. Buy it!

Also, to you developers, you guys are really cool. I like how you make this game feel like it's connected to real life. I really think it's cool how Jonathan Eng wrote an entire song for the game. It's really catchy. The only problem I have is the swearing. I know it's not real swearing, but I'd be a lot more willing to recommend the app to my little cousins if you removed those words.

  • Absolutely Stunning

This game is a step above almost any game i can think of. The concept alone for this game deserves 5 stars, but add in the visuals, music, story, and play and it will probably be one of the best games you will ever play. Really the only downside to this game in any way, is that it isn't long enough. I would want more play from a $4.00. However to any reading this, it is still well worth buying, and should not dissuade you from joining in on the fun. PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THESE GAMES!

  • The ultimate puzzle/story/adventure

I'm blown away after the first chapter. Puzzles combine riddles within text, audio, and images - you don't know what you're getting into by just reading the text, you have to pay attention to every little detail. You have to turn and twist, both your mind and your device. And while you do all of that, you'll get to enjoy reading a good book. I can't wait to keep playing and enjoying this!

  • Truly deserving 5 stars, redefining games.

This interactive story is a truly unique fusion of sight, sound, text, and fourth-wall experimentation. Not for kids, it can get a little dark and creepy, but the mystery and unique puzzles... hard to recommend this more. Of course it is too short: quality over quantity. Only once did I have to look up clues for a puzzle I still feel was poorly phrased, but the innovation and creativity here boggles the mind. Quirky and innovative to a degree I haven't seen since the Portal games, even though this will never take gaming culture by storm. Great game.

  • Short, but wonderful

I didn't have too many expectations for this app and I was pleasantly surprised. I will admit that here and there I got a little tired of backtracking through the layout of a level, but it was always rewarding in the end. The concept of this game is a mashup of an Escape the Room game and a short story. Clever. I think I wrapped up all 6 levels in 2-3 hours. I love games that make me take notes and occasionally have to actually go get some household object to help me out. Wonderful.

All that said, I do wish it were longer. The price does seem a touch high for that short of an amount of time. But on the other hand, you can think of the pricing like a cup of coffee. A few dollars for a few quality hours. I think it's worth it if you would genuinely appreciate being immersed in a clever indie game for a few hours.
