  • Hometown homesick

Great to keep up to date with news in our hometown. Now living in Canada
  • Ex Mackem

Love this news feed. I don’t originate from Teesside so find the updates brilliant. So up to date.
  • Great game

I loved this escape game. I loved the fact that there were lots of levels and that there were tricky parts but not impossible. There were parts that didn’t work and stopped me finishing the level but on the whole I loved it
  • Great

Smashing local paper keeps you up to date with all the local news
  • Dates of news items

Would be useful to have the item date at the start of each item to see how current it is (see similar apps from other news providers).
  • Keeping up

My husband lived in middlesbrough but now lives in the south east of the country. I like to keep up with the news there and love seeing what’s what and giving him the ‘heads up’ on local news. Thank you.
  • Steve Laird

As an ex Boro lad it’s great to keep up to date on news - from wherever I am . Would love to hear from anyone who might know me . I promise I have calmed down a bit !

  • App is slow and comments don’t load

The app has actually declined in response times after every new version.

The new version doesn’t even load comments. You have to go back to the article and comments button at least 3 times before they load. You just get the infinite spinner of doom on the comments page.

Not sure why they employ amateurs to deploy these apps without any sort of testing.

  • Great up to date news

It’s very good at keeping you up to date with local news. At the moment especially good regarding travelling on the roads because of the protests.
  • Misleading headlines

The most frustrating aspect to this app is that, often, a video accompanying a headline provides no further information or even, sometimes, has no relevance at all to the topic.
