  • Best App for Stand-Alone Meditation

Buddify is my favorite app for stand-alone meditations. I love the ones they have for falling asleep. I usually have trouble sleeping but since discovering Buddify, instead of waiting an hour or more to find calm and sleep, I'm down for the count in less than 11 minutes (I know it's 11 because I often don't even make it to the end of the meditation). I'm starting to integrate it more into my daily practice and would love a reminder feature.

  • Excellent app, but not all voices are created equal.

Using this app has done a number of positive things for me. I listen to at least one track a day, either when I go to sleep or take a nap. I’ve recommended it to many others. I would love to give it the 5 stars it mostly deserves, but the inclusion of certain voices on many of the tracks has me repeating the same half dozen tracks that feature (in my opinion) soothing voices. I find only two voices worthy of inclusion here: the British female and the deep-voiced American male. Any others I find annoying, so much so that listening to them actually makes me tense. Eliminate those and you’ll have a five-star app.

  • Crafted w/Care, Useful, Better Thank Headspace

I did Headspace every day for 6 months and ultimately it’s the SAME meditation every time with a different short intro. Buddhify is premised in Meditation serving different purposes at different times for different people. If you want to build a practice you can do that. But if you at really just feeling stressed or self-hating or sleepless you can pick a specific meditation.

Best is that it’s not just someone talking to you ABOUT the topic. The designers have you use specific, different, legit meditation techniques given the need. It’s been great to see this app grow. I’m a big fan. I keep coming back to it. You will too.

  • Wonderful way to learn meditation on the go

I wasn’t convinced that meditation was all it’s supposed to be. I looked at it as a fad among some of my peers. I tried a few apps, and didn’t like them. But then I tried Buddhify, and realized that it was what I was missing.

The voices are great (I do love British accents though), it’s soothing and I’m learning to calm my mind. Which, quite frankly, I needed to do. I fight several chronic and genetic illnesses, and having this app helps me remember that even though I’m always fighting for my health, there ARE things to be grateful for. Many things.

My only concern is that sometimes the pauses in between segments of a track are sometimes a bit long, which always makes me want to check if it’s still running. That being said, I love it.

Many thanks for a well written app and guide.

  • Wonderful meditation app

I found myself in a tough time experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. It was a friend who introduced me to this app and I can’t thank them enough! I had been introduced to mindfulness in the past, but find the app to be a useful guide. I’ve used it every day since I got it and per my stats, my average is just under an hour a day. It’s helped me wake up peacefully, make it through tough days, and calm down for sleep. I’ve been able to manage anxiety in its early stages using this app rather than turning to medication. Thanks buddhify! I do believe in your mission and plan to become a member.

  • I’m a counselling psychologist, I frequently use Buddhify and highly recommend it to others!

I just love this app! There’s nothing quite like it anywhere else- and I have trialled a great many so that I can make informed recommendations to my clients.
I’ve been meditating since 1991 and providing counselling services since 1992, so I’d like to think I know something about what can help people find some peace and joy in their life. Meditation is definitely a skill to master and use for the rest of your life.
Most recently, I used Buddhify in hospital when I had a four-night stay following fairly uncomfortable surgery. It really helped get me through the experience.
Highly recommended if you are new to meditation, and also very helpful if you are an old hack like me 😌

Hi Jennifer, thank you very much for your kind review. That's great to know you recommend buddhify, but also that buddhify has been useful for your own practice - we love hearing how it works for different people and how they use the app. // Lucy
  • I found Headspace better...

As with everything, this app will suit some people but not all. Fortunately at just £5, its cheap enough to find out for yourself. The reason this app didn’t do it for me is that I found many of the voices grating, I just couldn’t settle into a meditation because I was constantly thinking about how distracting the narrators voices were. There are several different commentators, mixing male, female, American and British however pretty much none of their voices I found relaxing.

Also, I really didn’t like some of the content. For example there are options for walking meditation and meditation using your phone, both counterintuitive to the very idea of meditation from my understanding.

As I said at the top of this review, its cheap enough to risk seeing if its for you. I highly recommend Headpsace as the guy’s voice, style and the overall app experience is much much more calming.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. Buddhify has a mix of on-the-go meditations and meditations for more traditional meditation. On-the-go meditations means that people can find time for meditation during their day, while helping people to bring mindfulness to their everyday life and the people around them. In the app there is a section called Foundations - which has articles and information about on-the-go meditations alongside some other topics such as making meditation a habit. There are also a mix of voices across the app (14 voices in total with a mix of female and male) - if you want to send us an email on support@buddhify.com we'd be very happy to help you find sections and voices that might appeal more to you. // Lucy
  • One of my favourites

I can really feel the love and dedication of the team behind this app and it’s inspirational for my meditation practice. I appreciate the short guided sections and I use them as a focal point for longer unguided meditations.

It’s not perfect, I think the wheel is clunky sometimes (I have my categories on max so no doubt it’s my own doing, still) and it was an adjustment to get into. I found Rohan’s voice unbearable grating in the beginning (I’m sorry, my heart is open now), some of the earlier recordings are below the quality I’d expect in a paid app, but there are so many gems of wisdom and staple meditation techniques I use so frequently in here. The more I explore the more I love it.

The lack of a mandatory subscription is wonderful, and I’d recommend this app over something like Headspace any day. I like to combine it with Naturespace as there is no music provided. Controversial I appreciate being able to choose my own background noise or lack thereof.

I wanted to say great job guys, I’d love to hear more from Vince and see some more advanced tracks from you.

  • Highly recommend

Would highly recommend..the 1 time joining fee is well worth it. Good variety of guided meditations and option for solo meditation with customizable timer. Whether you are new to meditation or have been meditating for years, there is something for you. This app is easy to use and has really helped me become more consistent and look forward to my daily meditation.

  • Again, latest update is terrible

Have tried using this app since your newest layout and updates. It’s awful. When I “skip update” none of the meditations work. It says “error not fully downloaded”. then I sit through the update (3-4 minutes) and STILL I get errors. I know you want to make it better. But more features don’t necessarily mean a better experience. I paid for this app, and I loved the previous layout. I never had any issues with downloading or finding what I need. Can I get my money back so I can find a different one??
