  • Engaging story, extremely smart

This game will bend your mind as you travel through the story. Full of puzzles, unexpected turns in the story, good graphics, and a great soundtrack, I highly recommend this game.

It's a slow game, so don't buy it expecting a quick fix. It's more like reading a good book. Do yourself a huge favor and plug in earphones. It will make all the difference. Some puzzles would have been much harder without them. Plus the game has a great soundtrack!

  • Enjoyed this game!

I really enjoyed this point and click adventure game. It made me think and the story was engaging. I admit the ending was a little contrived, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game. The game developers have a pretty good walkthrough if you need it. I'm not sure why some people didn't like it. I didn't didn't find the translations to be that bad. It is definately worth trying, especially while it is on sale.

  • Unique Feel. I really enjoyed it..

I've read a lot of the reviews and I can say I understand where some people come from regarding the ending. But the Devs wrote a blog regarding it and I did feel where they were coming from with it as well. I really enjoyed the game personally. I think if people would put on the headphones, commit to at least 20 or 30 mins of gameplay minimum, it would really make a difference in the satisfaction level the game provides. The soundtrack really sets the tone for the entire feel of the game. Without it, I think it would be very hard to emotionally connect to the game. It's not one you wanna try to get 5 mins of quiet play in here or there. If that's what you're looking for, play something else right then. Don't ruin the game for yourself by not giving it the the dedication it deserves. To truly appreciate it, throw in the headphones, turn off the lights and then give it a go. 5 stars Kickback. Keep doing what you do.

  • Mostly fun throwback

This game reminds me a lot of early ps1 games. In that regard it is fun to revisit some of those memories through this game. Also the script for the most part is cleverly written with characters often pointing out loopholes and inconsistencies in the plot right as we notice them.
Things do progress relatively slowly which will probably be a big issue for modern game. However in the end it seems that the creators of the game didn't really know how to wrap up the story they started and so they simply don't! After the mostly fun ride for the nostalgic game your left feel like you've been a little cheated.

  • Tedious adventure with a linear story

I bought this game because of the hype and I’m sorry I did. While some people may enjoy it, consider the negative reviews in your buying decision.

I did complete the game but I constantly had to push myself to get through it. There’s nothing innovative about this game, it’s a standard adventure game and it can be tedious to play through all the situations. The text is repetitive and can be annoying to read after a while (and there are grammatical errors). The story evolves but I couldn’t get into it. The latter half of the game feels contrived, making you repeat most of what you just accomplished. The ending is, as others have said, really drawn out. I wasn’t blown away by it, I was just happy it ended.

  • Machinarium - NOT

I tried to be patient hoping something would happen. Incessant sound of typing made me mute the game (no selective sound filters) and you have to read a lot of mundane conversation which must be plowed through to move forward - no skip. The game is extremely linear meaning reading the same text over and over until you move to the next point. Must accomplish tasks before moving to next area - more like Room Escape games. Fair artwork done on a limited pixel computer. Sorry - I didn't have the patience.

  • no hints or help

While the graphics are nice and the game has some promise, I cannot enjoy a game with no hints, no help, no walkthrough and so just a frustrating experience. there is way too much clunky dialogue and I am stuck and will probably be deleting the game. It is very hard to believe the glowing reviews.
Update, I rated this two stars(almost gave it only one) and now my review is suddenly showing four stars!! I was suspicious of all the glowing reviews and I do not like the tampering of my rating. Buyers beware!!

  • Awesome throwback!

Used to love these type of immersive adventure games like Parasite Eve on the Playstation! Now I can relive the feeling with Lost Echo! Overall an excellent game - worth the $2.99 price tag, although some may feel it's a bit short - solved in 2 days. But, what do you expect of an app game vs. a full blown $50 console game? Was very satisfying. Next time they should develop a longer game - I think people would feel a bit more satisfied and be willing to pay a little bit more! 5 stars! Can't wait for the next version!

  • We need more games like this

While the writing was a bit bad at times, the idea was interesting and kept me engaged for hours. Animations weren't the best, but they were well done and done by hand it looks. I think the ending was pretty confusing and didn't make much sense, though.

Overall, it was refreshing to see a real adventure game over all the crap out there in the App Store now. Good on ya, debs.

  • Great!

Lost Echo is a great game, I sure hope there will be a sequel!! A lot more could be explained...

Hint: If you are stuck at the poker game first pick up a card, then slide it to the other room. Then talk to the ice cream seller, make sure you click everything he has to say. You need to record his voice with your phone, then get his fingerprint with the two things you found(or will find) in your office next to your printer. Some of them are a little hard to find. Finally, his password has to do with his wife.
