  • Stand by me

This company I can’t speak more highly of it has helped me in ways you can’t even imagine. I have run across some hard times trying to run a successful, small business a very fragile small business and if it wasn’t for these people and contract tools, extending their customer service and personal help I wouldn’t have been able to achieve the success that I look forward to in the future I stand behind this company because this company stands behind me. That’s the bottom line to be honest with you and tell the truth I was in a bad situation and have been in the last few months of my business, this company stood behind me and took care of me and I’ll never forget that. Very good company. Glad to be a part of it. Look forward and moving together in the future. Thank you so much contract tools sincerely Joseph Trough LLC

  • Feature request

I love everything about the app so far. It makes it easy to add products to catalogs to later re use them in other estimates. I also love the portal feature which lets the customers see payments recorded and order changes made to original quote.
Another feature I love, is the fact that you can factor in any and all Overhead & Profit expenses as a percentage, however, I would love it if we could decide weather we want the O&P to be calculated into the item/product costs or show it as a “total” item, like the tax. Some project managers like to see just how much we are charging for the O&P and the actual price for the labor and/or materials. Another feature that would come in handy would be the ability to see the materials and labor price independently on each line item. Like If I want to charge 150 for labor and 75 for materials, Instead of showing 225 for that line item, maybe show the actual 150 labor and 75 materials. Anyway besides that everything is great.

Contractor Tools is a great software for building contractors, remodelers, etc.. It is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Tons of easy to watch tutorial videos and fantastic customer service. Synchs easily with Quick Books. Our clients like the ease of use as well which makes projects go as smooth as possible. Highly recommended.

  • Great software

Have been using this software for several years actually since it came out, loved it from beginning. Don’t fix it unless it’s broken but no they even made it better then one would expect.
    Great work, thank you.
  • Amazing Program!!!

This program is very easy to use. It makes putting together estimates a breeze. Also they turn out looking SO much nicer and more professional than just a typed up QB estimate or invoice. It makes it very clear and easy to understand for the customer as well.
It really helps stream line a lot of things. I couldn’t imagine running my G.C. company without this program. Anything i could think of to make it better, they already had, i just had not discovered the feature yet (i am very computer illiterate fyi). The Customer Service is unmatched in todays world. Anytime i have needed help, i can call text, email or message through the program. As long as its a reasonable hr someone from the company will reach out within 5min typically. And its a real live person that is invested in the company and gives a dang! I personally deal with Patrick and every experience is positive! I’d like to add it is on the cheaper side for comparable programs that you pay for. I would like to add this is not a sponsored review.

  • Almost perfect.

The details of the estimating as well as the invoicing is excellent. There are a few things holding me back from a 5 star rating. The top tier is the only really functional level for a busy contractor.

    Con’s:
No basic company financial reports. Such as how many projects were completed in a given time period or fiscal year. No telling how fiscal value of projects for a given year. Everything is all bundled together in an overview of arbitrary categories, LEADS, CONTRACTS SIGNED, WORKED STARTED. etc. This is almost useless

Estimating could be easier if their was a way to copy and paste entire sections, or at least asking where the items should be duplicated to instead of duplicating line items and then having to move them to a new section.

There is only one online payment processor available to have customer make payments. STRIPE. If you use other payment processors there is no way to interstate that into your estimates or invoice.

You can only get realtime product pricing from one store. Homedepot.

Document template appearance is limited to single color choice and the choice of what items are displayed on invoice. You cannot change the overall look or feel of the documents.

No ability to add photos to invoice so that there is a record of what was done.

No way to generate a statement history for clients.

    Pros:
    Professional look for documents.
    Cost book integrations.
    Customer portal
Ability to sign documents in app
    Job reports

  • Pischedda construction

As a remodeling company I use this on a daily basis. I have the pro subscription because I need to be able to make change orders and invoices. The craftsman cost books work out great because I’ve used them for years. The pro subscription could be a little pricey for some contractors small contractors like myself. For me it’s worth it for the convenience it affords me to work on the go since I’m very hands on with installations and repairs. The changes I would make would be that the cost Books could have the quarterly updates. I would pay extra for that especially in a time when a 2 x 4 can go from three dollars to seven dollars very quickly. Secondly for $60 a month the program shuts off if I try to bounce between apps for too long. I was told that’s an issue with Apple but I haven’t had that problem with other apps. All things considered very happy very useful!

  • Amazing is not enough

For all of you out there looking for a solid software to estimate, invoice, track payments, I have to tell you. I’ve been here for years, tried many out there. This is the king. About customer service, honestly, I have to say it they are eleven in a 10 scale. I’ve been there needing help, been helped after hours, they doing extra things to please me, beyond what any customer service do. Go out and try all those apps they got out there, if you get to know this app before you do that, you will have something to compare, then, you will notice the difference, you will see what I’m talking about.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your feedback. That's definitely one of the things on our to-do list. It's a little tricky because all of that has to be synced with QuickBooks properly as well. You should take a look at the Job Recap report in the Job Reports section. That shows a nice summary of the job to the customer. I'll add your request for declining change orders to our to-do list. For now, you can just leave them in the Pending state.
  • Lots of glitches

Terrible program, constantly making mistakes and changing numbers after invoices sent. After you delete items off of original estimate then send in invoice when you go to receive payment the items you deleted are back and you have to redo all the work. They blame QuickBooks but the program is terrible strongly recommend not using! I’m out hundreds of hours trying to fix mistakes this program makes. Dan Fellman(the owner) is terrible at resolving issues and takes forever to respond to issues. At one point program was down over a week and I couldnt enter estimates or invoices or anything else on the program. All sorts of problems way too many to list
