Results speak for themselves
I just wanted to leave a review here because I can see there are a few negative reviews which I understand. The performance is variable on range of devices depending on the age of the device. We’ve used loads of devices during COVID lockdown and it works very well on a reasonably new one. Slightly glitchy on ones with unsupported older iOS. However I am astonished to say that my 4 year old has taught herself to read using this programme! It’s so clearly backed up by proper learning methodology, it works so well. Thanks to you my 4 year old will come out of COVID lockdown with square eyes and most important skill of her life. I would never have paid the money if teacher friend hadn’t suggested I do it so just passing on my experience so other kids can get the benefits.

Great for pandemic-forced homeschooling
This review is for Reading Eggs and MathSeeds. There are two other programs in this bundle that we haven’t used (one for younger kids, one for older).
Bought this is after 3 months of remote pre-K instruction. I was concerned our son might not be ready for K in the fall and also concerned that we might be (effectively) homeschooling in a few months. This app has helped us understand what skills he is lacking. There are homeschool lesson plans that help you see what lessons are considered kindergarten/grade 1/ grade 2. He does 1-2 lessons a day (I think you are supposed to do 1 a week), a few days a week.
It’s also helped in terms of sanity during this isolation — something he can do while my husband and I get some work done.
Other learning apps have been problematic in that once he finds part of the program that has videos or games he stops doing the actual lessons. This has a bit of that issue, but some games “cost” golden eggs/acorns, which he only gets from doing the lessons. He loves the little critters that he gets for completing a group of lessons — they have really figured out what 5-year-olds think is entertaining!

MathSeeds lessons are a little difficult because he doesn’t have familiarity with the spelling of the numbers 0-10, but he is getting better. It’s just impossible to have him sound out the word “eight” when he’s just learned how to read “map”.

Great, but why?
I got this app because I played it at a friends house and it was kinda fun, but when I downloaded it, it told me that I had one free month then I had to pay. WHAT!?! Nobody told me I had to pay!! Also, I’m eleven yrs old, so most of the stuff is just boring. Some of the stuff is fun, like the play kitchen, but can you please make one for older kids? And make it free. Please! I would like it a lot more if you did this. Other than this, it’s a fun and educational game for your KINDERGARTENERS. Please consider my requests. Thanks!

Quarantine Favorite!
Purchased app because it was recommended by my brother who is a surgeon and uses it with all of his kids. My daughter used the app and I can say I was skeptical because the design and graphics were not of highest quality, however, I must say it really actually works and my daughter LOVES playing the game. She is actually learning sounds and how to read. She also retains the information through repetition. The best app I have seen for reading especially.

It was really good but
My 2yo daughter really enjoyed it, however, glitching is still there, we also got issues with the sound/music in some levels that it would suddenly turned off and we can’t turn it back on.. hoping they’ll get to fix these things soonest possible. Thank you

Teacher mum
This is a great, interactive app that really does help little ones learn to read. My son is 3 and has come on so much with his ability to recognise the sounds each letter makes and also blending sounds to make the word. As a primary teacher, he has had help from me however I would say the majority of his learning has come from reading eggs.
The maths seed is also amazing. It has helped consolidate his number and shape recognition and helped him to identify numbers through counting objects and seeing them in different patterns.
A tad expensive at £6.99 pm however will continue to pay until lockdown is over/he goes back to nursery

My daughter loves it but...
My 4 year old loves this app! However, there are some major connectivity issues.
We have paid for the subscription (we have the iTunes receipt) but the reading eggs app won’t work as it says our subscription is expired. We have been emailing back and forth with reading eggs customer service and two weeks later we still don’t have this issue resolved (despite me doing everything the reading eggs support team has suggested). So here we are, paying for an app, we cannot access.

My Review as a Teacher & Mom
As a former third grade teacher (for ten years), as a current online ESL teacher (for 3.5 years) and mommy to a kindergartener (who I’m now homeschooling virtually), discovering the Reading Eggs app (as compared to other reading apps I have tried) has been such a TREASURE OF A FIND!!! Truthfully, the Reading Eggs app engages my son way more than other educational apps I’ve tried... I’ve tried many other apps in search of ones to support & provide reading learning/practice and honestly with what I’ve been looking for in reading for our son, this app meets EXACTLY what I’ve needed/wanted. I love how it assesses our children prior to beginning so that proper placement can be made based on a child’s level. It’s a quality app that kids can enjoy while also remaining highly educational.

Great but now glitching...
This app has been amazing for home-schooling our 5 year old during lockdown. Unfortunately, this morning the app crashed and we have been unable to open it since, even after deleting and reinstalling. Some advice would be appreciated, if possible.

Daughter LOVES it!
Due to covid19 and finding out the children won’t be going back to school any time soon! I had to find away to help my daughter. She’s only in year 1 and not very good at reading yet. Not being a teacher I don’t feel confident enough I’ll be able to help my little girl be good enough for when she finally goes back to school and don’t want her to be left behind. So was looking for apps to help and found this one. Tried the abc mouse but my daughter found it boring and didn’t want to do it. This app she’s learning and enjoying doing it. Hopefully helps her learn to read and keep interested as she has a short attention span.
