Hello, A new update with bug fixes has been released and it should fix your issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • Bug Crashes App

App crashes when I click “preferred voice settings” under any circumstance. How can I fix this? Good app so far otherwise!
  • Like but help with this one small thing.

Would love to see if you could choose the Siri voice and not the robotic voice from the app.
  • Awesome App

Allows you to listen to articles while working out and commuting. Greet way to keep up to date!
  • Very Good with faults.

I really like this app and use it frequently. The job it does is adequate but one must adjust to the delivery. The delivery is rough and choppy - we expected that. The pronunciation is good 89-93%. I find it interesting that it can correctly pronounce ’gunshot’ or ‘gunfight’ but cannot pronounce ‘gun’ and spells it g-u-n. Another, and this is the greatest annoyance, is that when a —, emdash, or long dash it translated as ‘power of’ or ‘the power of’. That is fixable.

  • Very very useful!

A wonderful app & very useful!! Quite amazing actually. I use it every day & really speeds up the intake of any written text.
  • How is it there are only 7 reviews

I found out about this app years ago at a teacher training workshop for students with learning disabilities. For myself I have found this app to be a huge help. Although the accessibility functions of Siri allow me to read an article, it’s often frustrating as there are the descriptions of the pictures, what’s on the page etc. With this app, it just pulls out the information which is unbelievably helpful. In the morning, I open my newspaper subscriptions download all the articles I want to Speaky and then I simply listen to them throughout the day. My own child has dyslexia and it has been a huge help. It’s not just for people with learning disabilities it’s also great for people like me who are super busy but want to stay informed on what is happening in the world.

  • How do I get a refund?

I purchased this app specifically to read PDF files, and I’ve come to find out it’s in capable of doing that... I receive error messages about them not being simple enough. It does state that it can scrape text from the main body and read. But, That doesn’t seem to be the case!

In fact, I’m not sure what it’s capable of...

So, again how do I get a refund for this app since it does not read PDF files?

  • Makes every text an audio book

This app helped me multitask reading college text books while I commuted to my full time day job. I could not have squeezed it in anywhere else. Recent changes have resolved many issues. I highly recommend.

Hello! This issue should be fixed in the 3.40 update released earlier today.
  • Speaky is easy to love!

I just love this app! It allows me more freedom and frees up time! I can now do two things at I once!
With my vision not being so great, I send the articles I want to read to my “friend” Speaky!
It’s easy to use... just send what you want to read to Speaky which then reads it back to you!
It is very versatile... language, speed, font size, etc! It’s great!
