Functional but dated
We’ve had our pool and Astral equipment for just over a year now. This is hooked up to an equilibrium and viron connect to control via this app. The app is functional allowing us to turn on, off or set auto all of the viron connected units like the filter/pump, waterfall, spa, gas heater. We also have pool lighting and you can set theme modes or just solid colours from a range. We get feedback on current water temps, set the heater output temp, and with the PH sensor option see the water balance. You can do all this from anywhere and overall I am very happy with these features.
There are some drawbacks however. The app is a little clunky, hasn’t been updated for newer phones, only works in portrait mode. Feedback can be a little slow at times. It logs out very quickly leading to constant logins pretty much every time you put your phone down. It lacks some feedback like it’s hard to tell if the spa heater is running unless you are seeing the temp go up. Messages from the equilibrium are not shown such as low salt or acid. You can not control dosing so must be done manually via the unit.
Again these are criticisms of the app and controls but I am generally happy with how everything works. It would be nice to see some improvements and I feel it would be more professional of Astral to provide a modern app especially given today’s society and expectations.

Too old now...
“Update” - I called Fabtronics and spoke with one of the owners by chance. As soon as I said “noticed your app hasn’t been updated in years”, he blew up and took it personally. Quote, “just because it’s not shiny and new for you, doesn’t mean it’s not functional, if there’s no specific issue, then I’m not having this debate!”. He hung up on me. I was stunned.... Do NOT buy Astral as its developed by this small minded Business run by a director with no sense of what customers want or deserve.
Time for an update Fabtronics! We’ve paid huge amounts of money for this system that is marketed as App Controlled and yet the last update was 3 years ago. Turning lights on is clunky. Switching pump speeds is also clunky.
What’s the point of auto-logout in such a short timeframe if you are giving users the ability to save username/password? If u really want to secure the app, then update it to use Touch ID and/or 2-factor authentication. Give it a modern UI update also.

Useful but dated
Great and convenient app to control your pool from anywhere. However the app is basically a wrapper around a HTML website. It looks as if it's still 2007 - really needs an upgrade to bring it to the modern era. Also it's quite laggy - a lot of wheel spinning. I would also love you guys to open up an API interface so that we can hook this up to IFTTT or a similar workflow / cloud automation product.
