Version History of Stand Up! The Work Break Timer

1.4.1

March 27, 2018

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon. Thanks for using Stand Up! If you still like Stand Up! we'd appreciate you taking a moment to review it. A small release, but useful: - Used to be the minimum "stand" amount was five minutes, but that's a lot when work beckons. The minimum is now one minute. - Some of you pointed out that you are working when you stand, so you don't want to be told to get back to work. Understandable! The "sit back down" message is now customizable. - The only other sound you hear is the squishing of bugs.

Thanks for using Stand Up! If you still like Stand Up! we'd appreciate you taking a moment to review it. Here's what's new: - New setting to time how long you want to be up! Used to be it was all negative: "don't let me sit too long", now we've got some positive: "make sure I stay up for awhile." - New Today widget shows you how much you've been up, how much time to the next reminder, and lets you pause, reset, or skip reminders without going into Stand Up! proper. - New seven-day history shows you how good you've been this week. - Spruced-up notifications now show you how much you've been up, and give you options for pausing notifications for that well-earned long lunch. - Random sound option in case you've acclimated to your favorite and have started sitting through it. This oughta get you on your toes. - The unglamorous bits: iOS 11 and iPhone X support, layout tweaks for plus devices, and bugfixes.

Thanks for using Stand Up! Releasing updates wipes out our rating, so if you still like Stand Up! we'd appreciate you taking a moment to rate it again. Here's what's new: - Night shift support! Used to be Stand Up! couldn't understand why anybody would work past midnight. Which is weird, because we're programmers. And parents. Not recommended if you're on stakeout, though. - Everybody used to think the speaker icon referred to the alarms, when it really referred to the UI sounds. Now it refers to both because it opens a much-clearer settings page. - Alarm volumes. Previously, if your volume was all the way up, some of our alarms could only be described as "piercing." We now have "high", "medium", and "low" versions of all alarms. Use the new sound settings page to change the volume. - iOS 9 support. If you tried the beta, you know iOS 9 put Stand Up! into a coma. We woke it up. - Pricing options. Stand Up! is still free and fully functional, with just the one IAP to unlock additional sounds. And the price is still the same. But some folks asked us if there were ways they could choose to pay more, and now there is.

Thanks for using Stand Up! Releasing updates wipes out our rating, so if you still like Stand Up! we'd appreciate you taking a moment to rate it again. Here's what's new: - You can now customize the notification text. Want it to say, "move now or you are likely to be eaten by a grue"? Now you can! Or, a little Easter egg for you release notes readers, type in "random" to mix things up. - FIX: the UI looked wonky when zoomed. Dewonkified. - FIX: if you set notification sounds off, Stand Up! thought notifications were disabled entirely. Stand Up! was wrong and has been taught the error of its ways. - FIX: sometimes reentering the geofence would preempt "done for the day." This was hard to reproduce, but pretty sure it works right now. - FIX: there was a bug where if your interval setting was greater than your "don't bug me" choice, it would set the wrong reminder time.

Thanks for using Stand Up! Releasing updates wipes out our rating, so if you still like Stand Up! we'd appreciate you taking a moment to rate it again. Here's what's new: - Interactive notifications! On iOS8 you can now swipe the notification in your lock screen (or pull down the banner notification) to tap "I'm up" or "Not now". - New "Vibrate Only" tone, in case your co-workers are getting sick of you lording your improved health over them. It's part of the sound bundle, and is included if you've already paid for it. - iOS8 support, universal app, and optimized layout for larger devices. - FIX: your alert sound will now play when the app is open (previously it would just make that little click-click of the dialog box appearing). - FIX: location handling has been rewritten so hopefully those of you working deep in the bowels of a Brazil-like dystopian skyscraper will have a little bit better luck getting a fix on your location. - FIX: sometimes the first reminder of the day would be off if you entered the geofence after, say, dropping your kid off at school. - FIX: pausing reminders is now continued to be honored as you move in and out of the geofence. - FIX: the color picker layout was off by a smidgen. Smidgen expunged.

Reviews of Stand Up! The Work Break Timer

  • Clear simple fast - it works for me

I love the simplicity. I set reminders 10am-9pm to stand up hourly and drink water and do 10 pushups. I like the random alert sounds. Unsure of purpose if the 3-5 minute later sound. Would like simpler tracking visual of percent or red yellow green compliance or which days of week or times of day I need to improve. I would love and willing to pay for inviting a group of 10 friends to share data and hourly checkins.
  • Great with an adjustable stand up desk

I have a motorized standup desk that easily transitions between sitting and stand up heights. I looked for the right sort of timer for quite a while without finding anything that would work for me. I like to stand for 30 minutes and then sit for 30 minutes. The Stand Up! app allows me to do just that. I set the “Stand” setting to 30 minutes. The app tells me to stand and then let’s me know in 30 minutes that I am done standing. Perfect. All the settings are straight forward and allow customization to your own work routine. On weekends, I use the prompt to get up and move around if I happen to be sitting.
  • Better than Apple Watch coaching

I can’t always meet Apple Fitness’ schedule of standing in the last 10 minutes of every hour. This app lets me do it when I want, and reset the timer at that point. I’ve been searching for something like this for a long time. Right now, I’m also using it to stay hydrated - getting a glass of water at each notification
