Description of iReact

*Not compatible with iPad Air* iReact has been developed as a research based collaboration between The Institute of Education at the University of London and The MadeByEducators Project. iReact is designed to help children manage difficult emotions. iReact aims to help children become aware of their emotional states and develop some awareness of how their emotions are felt within their bodies. This tool also offer a range of activities to help children to cope with their emotions with a view to these strategies becoming independent of the app. A short tutorial supporting the use of this app is available within settings. 'iReact' has been developed as a research based collaboration between The Institute of Education, The London Knowledge Lab and The MadeByEducators Project. The MadeByEducators Project was formed by teachers and is dedicated to exploring the ways in which technology can improve the lives of all children, particularly those with special educational needs. This app was based on a need expressed across parental consultation. The beta versions were then tested in schools and families and updated over three rounds. This current version is part of an ongoing yearlong research program involving several London based schools and families. Your feedback would be a valuable part of this research, please contact madebyeducators@gmail.com or Dr Joseph Mintz. J.Mintz@ioe.ac.uk

Don't waste your money

Absolutely rubbish app. Took 3 seconds to realise I wasted my money. All emotions are the same whether they are angry or sad or happy and all solutions the same whatever the emotion ie blow up a balloon, breath in, when I know for a fact you should concentrate on the out breath but doesn't do this. No tips and nothing helpful about it. Bought in desperation for my anxious daughter. SO disappointed.

Response from developer

Hi, Sorry your not finding the game helpful, we worked with the University of Central London and CRAE which is London centre for excellence in autism teaching. We have updated it to improve the user experience and it is something that you are supposed to get into the habit of using. I do hope you find it more useful now.
